When we think of a casino, usually Las Vegas, Monaco or Macau come to our minds, with most of them situated as a part of a huge hotel complex. But we can also find gambling facilities in more unique places like a boat or a train. What’s more, some casinos have opened in the most unusual locations offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As you can see from our list below, there is hardly any place on Earth where you can’t play your favorite slot or card game.

The Desert Cave (Coober Pedy, Australia)

Building a casino in the middle of nowhere is a strange idea but not so much in Australia. Where the Desert Cave Hotel was built in the middle of the desert, in the small mining town of Coober Pedy, 800 kilometers away from Adelaide. The Desert Cave Hotel is a perfect destination if you’re looking for a remote place, with no other establishments nearby. But what makes it one of the most extraordinary gambling venues is that almost the entire hotel was built underground. The casino is also located underground along with the world’s only underground bar. Guests can find 15 poker machines and other casino games in this unique location.

North Cadbury Court (Yeovil, United Kingdom)

Located in a medieval hall built in the 14th century, the North Cadbury Court in Yeovil has gone through a renovation recently. In which the wine cellars in the basement were turned into an underground casino.

The ceiling is very low and the area can only hold up to 25 people, so it might not be the best choice for claustrophobic gamblers. But if you don’t mind the limited space, you can play blackjack, roulette, and poker in a separate room. The hotel also has 21 bedrooms, a dining hall for up to 90 people, and even a ballroom where 150 people can be seated.

Most Extraordinary Gambling Venues: Casino Jet Lounge (France)

Moving in the other direction and up to the sky, we can also gamble in the air thanks to the team of French Airjet Designs. They built a casino into an actual plane, so people can gamble during their flight journey. Of course, there is a bar as well on the Boeing 777 besides the luxury seats. Passengers can only gamble in the air, as the casino is closed during takeoff, landing, and at any turbulence. Still, surely playing poker can make the journey more enjoyable. All passengers have to wager about £30,000, making it a quite expensive flight. So if you prefer to stay on the ground and risk a little less money, just visit one of the online casinos in France.

Casino Palais Savarin (Prague, Czech Republic)

We also have to mention the most extraordinary gambling venues Casino Palais Savarin in Prague. It is located in an 18th-century Baroque building with a beautiful interior. The casino itself is quite small as it only has 8 slot games and 12 tables, making its visit an even more special experience.

Guests have to climb an enormous staircase to access it. But it’s worth it as you can see amazing frescos on the way. The oldest Central-European casino has been operating for more than 100 years now. So if you want to be a part of history and feel like an Austro-Hungarian aristocrat, take a trip there.

Bally’s Resort and Casino (Las Vegas, US)

The Bally’s Resort and Casino in Las Vegas for the first glimpse looks like a normal resort. But according to the legends, it is a haunted place. The first building on the site, the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino opened in 1973 but a fire destroyed it in 1980, killing 87 people and injuring hundreds more. It was rebuilt and reopened a year later before it was sold to Bally Manufacturing. They renamed it Bally’s Las Vegas in 1986 but the past still has its impact on the building. At least according to the guests’ reports who smelled smoke on the corridors and saw the ghosts of the deceased.  Like a woman playing on slot machines or a child running down the halls. If you’re not looking for these kinds of thrills, just stay in the safety of your home and play on online gambling sites in France.

+ Rivers Casino (Des Plaines, Illinois, US)

Gambling regulations can be hard to fulfill in some US states. But even the toughest ones can be tricked as we can see in our next example. As the law in Illinois said that only riverboat casinos are legal, the owner of Rivers Casino built his casino over a puddle. Making it an establishment operating on the water. What a way to get around the law! The casino is located close to downtown Chicago and not far from O’Hare International Airport.  An ideal destination for travelers looking for some gambling. Visitors can choose from a wide selection of games as more than 1000 slot machines and 50 gambling tables are available at the casino.
