After the second Italian race in a row the MotoGP season will continue this weekend in Barcelona. The championship hasn’t been so exciting as this year for a long time now, with four riders being within four points of each other. In the MotoGP Catalunya winner odds Maverick Vinales is the favorite but as we’ve already witnessed, anyone can win the race.
It is very likely that we will have a new winner in the Barcelona circuit this year, as only two riders, Andrea Dovizioso and Valentino Rossi have managed to win here before. From the two Italians, Dovizioso is also leading the world championship at the moment, but only a single point ahead of French Quartararo and Spanish Vinales. Fans should expect another thrilling race in the season where already six different riders managed to win a race. Sadly Marc Marquez is still out of this season and the earliest he can return is the end of October. With no hope for him to defend his title, we will definitely see a new champion at the end of the year. So the next race will be crucial for all title contenders, let’s see their chances now.
MotoGP Catalunya winner odds can’t decide a clear favorite
Even online sportsbooks in Spain are in trouble to establish the main favorite of this race. They offer the same odds, 4.00 for the victory of Maverick Vinales and Fabio Quartararo. The two Yamaha riders are head-to-head in the championship and equal on points. Vinales is in better form recently after winning the last race in Emilia Romagna. It followed his 6th place in the same circuit a week before. The Spanish seems to have the pace, the only question is if he can keep it in Barcelona too where he had to retire last season.
Unlike his French rival, Quartararo, who has nice memories of this circuit. He got his first Moto2 victory here in 2018 and his first podium finish in MotoGP last year. But back to this season, after a brilliant start, he somehow lost his speed and finished out of the podium. And he also had to retire in San Marino. Last weekend Quartararo did improve though and finished in 4th place.
Other favorites to win the race in Barcelona
It might be a bit of a surprise that online gambling sites in Spain offer the odds of 4.50 for the win of Francesco Bagnaia. The Italian is only in 15th place in the overall standing, but finished second in the San Marino race two weeks ago. He was also leading the race last week until his crash and retirement. But he has a good chance to get his first MotoGP title here and be the seventh race winner of the season.
The MotoGP Catalunya winner odds also mention Suzuki rider Joan Mirr in the favorites. He is also in the chance to win the championship as he is within four points of the lead. After his two retirements in the beginning of the season, the Spanish rider has become very consistent. He finished on the podium three times out of the last four races, getting close to his first win as well. Mirr has to improve on his qualifying though as he has been only able to start the races further down the grid. His odds to win the race in Catalunya is 5.50 on 1xBet.
While championship leader Andrea Dovizioso has the odds of only 20.00. It is more due to his lack of speed than consistency. As the Italian finished all the races this season but only finished twice on the podium. But as we mentioned he has already won in this circuit before, which might give him some advantage over the other riders.
