The investment is estimated to have a $20,000,000 economic impact on the state’s budget.

California’s largest casino resort just got a fresh new look. Pechanga Resort and Casino started the year on a good note, welcoming clients to a new space that benefitted from a multimillion dollar renovation. The project included the renewal of the hotel lobby, the resort’s two restaurants and two new dining outlets.

In recent gambling news, Pechanga president Patrick Murphy told reporters: “We set out to transform the lobby and restaurants into focal points for guests to come into our grand entrance and say: ‘Wow’. Judging by the thousands who have already come in and taken photos in the new space, we hope we have achieved that objective.”

Local economy boost

According to economist Manfred Keil, the renovation should have a positive effect on the local economy. The expert estimates the investment will have an economic impact of approximately $20,000,000 and bases his calculations on purchases made, as well as on salaries paid to the 350 construction workers. In addition, 90 new jobs have been created at the casino resort since the renovation.

Ken Westmyer, chairman of Temecula Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau stated: “When a company as committed as Pechanga to giving visitors an experience they come back for again and again does something as big as a multi-million dollar remodel, it has a nearly immediate effect on other visitor-based businesses – wineries, hotels, restaurants and shops.”

The renovation has already attracted new clients to the gambling venues and with American gambling laws imposing taxes on casino profits, the state will surely benefit from Pechanga’s increased revenues.
