The odds on US politics make for strange reading. Celebrities are running in elections here, there and everywhere. Democrats are still chasing their tails and looking for January 6th justice. All whilst the Republicans pervert democracy in pursuit of victory whatever the cost to the country. Anyone in the US gambling laws of common decency will keep democracy alive and well in the good ole’ US of A needs to think again. It was never very much of a democracy in the first place.
The system, a wise man once informed us, has the engine of a lawnmower and the brakes of a Rolls Royce. He may have been exaggerating a little, but it’s hard to argue with the essence of his sentiment. Just look at the For The People Act so recently blocked in the Senate. Seemingly obvious progress suddenly stymied by those determined to win despite, not because of, democracy. So whilst the odds on US politics favor the Democrats, the rules really don’t.
If you don’t like it in the Senate you can just talk it off the floor. Republican use of the filibuster to remove any legislation they dislike is killing America. They have imposed years of stagnancy on the country refusing all motion towards the future. The entire world has liberalized hugely since 1945, it’s undeniable, and yet Republicans ignore it. They’re like someone who has bet on sports in the US and is determined to gun down the entire opposing team to stop them scoring.
Odds On US Politics Favor Bet On The Democrats
Like a modern day King Canute they stand on the shore desperately attempting to hold back the tide. Now, just like Canute, they’ll find it’s not so easy. They can weasel and cheat and lie all they like, and will, but the writing is on the wall. The people are wise to their tricks and lament their slavish fawning over the dysfunctional Donald Trump. They are now the party of haters, of incels, of the ignorant and bigoted. Which means the odds on US politics should be one-sided.
“Once again, the Senate Republican minority has launched a partisan blockade of a pressing issue.”
- Chuck Schumer – Senate Majority Leader
They’re not. Republicans have so effectively demonized the Democrats, and so carefully bent their rules to their whim, they still have a chance. Odds on US politics at Bovada give Nikki Haley 12/1 on living in the White House next. Of course, those same online sportsbook sites in the US give Donald Trump returning just 13/2. Scary. However, this is all only a temporary setback. Liberalization will continue and one day the Republicans and their games will be gone.
You Can Bet On The Republicans At Bovada
One only needs to look at polling amongst America’s young to know which way the odds on US politics and future elections will sway. The religious right dwindles, the social conservatives wane, and soon even Republican gerrymandering won’t help them win. What’s more, they know it. So this really all is just sour grapes and a horrifically corrupt effort to cling to jobs they don’t deserve. They claim so often to detest socialism yet all love to suckle at the teats of the state.

So, the odds on US politics will tell you Kamala Harris is favorite to win the election in 2024. She gets 7/2 just ahead of Joe Biden on 9/2. What they don’t tell you, however, is that it may not matter. As long as the Filibuster exists, as long as States can impose barriers on voters rights, the odds on US politics even getting close to democracy again are laughable. Online betting sites in the US like Bovada would give you shorter prices on the planet getting invaded by alien earwigs.
We take a look at why the odds on US politics should give the Republicans absolutely no chance and yet still price them quite close in.
