Rocky Gap Casino Resort and a Bonkerz Comedy Club are pairing up to bring nationally recognized comedians to the Maryland casino every other week.

In American gambling news, a new arrangement has been struck up between Rocky Gap and the national comedy chain to attract crowds into the casino.

Announced on Wednesday, the Rocky Gap Casino Resort will become the latest home for the Bonkerz Comedy Club, which already has 20 locations all over the United States.

According to Rocky Gap’s general manager, Scott Just, the chain has “a great reputation for booking top-level talent that has made an impression with national television audiences.”

Bonkerz Comedy Club’s star-studded line up has included Carrot Top, Larry the Cable Guy and Billy Gardell.

“We are thrilled to be home to its newest location and look forward to entertaining both locals and tourists alike,” comments Just.

Due to US gambling laws, casino style gambling is less widespread in the US than other countries, however Rocky Gap opened its doors in May 2013 as Maryland’s fourth casino.

Rocky Gap plans to launch its comedic venture with a “soft-opening” on January 23, with plans to feature Carmen Vallone, and hopes to continue with a new comedy show every other Thursday.

The 21-and-over event will be hosted in the 250-seat Allegheny Event Center, located on casino grounds, with entry costing $15 per ticket. The official grand opening for the casino comedy club will take place February 6.
