Together, Serena and Venus Williams have won Wimbledon ten times, now one of them will be eliminated from the further phases of the tournament.

The sisters Williams are regarded as icons in the world’s female tennis. Their duels have provoked immense interest for the audience for more than a decade now. They have each won the grass-court Grand Slam five times, reports gambling news. However their encounter today in the quarter-final of this year’s edition of Wimbledon will leave one of them out of the tournament.

They played their first match against each other on Wimbledon fifteen years ago. In the semifinal of the tournament Venus celebrated a victory against her younger sister and won later the third Grand Slam of the year for the first time. However, Serena is more successful so far in their duels on Wimbledon. She leads 3-2 with all three victories in the final matches of the tournament.

Serena considered to be absolute favorite in today’s match

According to the online sportsbooks in the EU the role of a favorite in today’s match definitely goes for Serena Williams. Serena is the current number one of the ATP ranking list but the performances that Venus has so far shown on the tournament indicate that this is not going to be an easy match for the younger sister.

In an interview before the match Serna stresses for the journalists: “I’m practicing next to her every day and I’m in awe of how she’s doing. It’s a little frustrating because I know I have to play her.” Venus is also not happy with the draw and the match against each other in the quarterfinal. However both promise a high quality tennis and an interesting match for the spectators on the Wimbledon’s Centre Court today.
