In efforts to develop and facilitate new thrilling sports services, online gaming group Betsson entered an agreement with Rush Sports AB to purchase a share of the firm.

Swedish gambling news reports that Betsson will pay a total of SEK 1.8 million to Rush Sports AB in exchange for a 20% share of the aspiring sporting app firm. The agreement also stipulates that there is a 3 year option to acquire the rest of the 80% which would make Betsson the complete owner of the popular company.

Rush Sports is an ambitious start-up app developing firm that has managed to attract a great of attention thanks to its successful Rush Football app. This respective product is marketed as the first serious application for event-driven real-time betting. Rush Sports has also released some other interesting apps like; Forxa Football and Forza 90’.

The president of Betsson is delighted with the deal

The president and CEO of Betsson AB, Magnus Silfverberg, highlighted the main reason behind this ambitious move and commented how they aim to improve their standing in the gaming market. “The investment in Rush Sports AB is part of Betsson’s investment strategy, in which Betsson continually evaluates opportunities to strengthen the company’s position in the market.”

Despite the fact that some Swedish gambling laws dictate a tax fee must go to the government as part of the transaction, Silfverberg remains convinced that they will be able to make considerable progress with this move. “We believe in this investment & look forward with enthusiasm on the development of Rush Sports AB & Rush Football.”
