The ten young hockey stars in raising are widely considered to be among the most attractive new acquisitions of the NHL 2016/17 season.

October 12th is the starting date of the regular season of the 100th edition of the National Hockey League (NHL). Thirty teams in four divisions enter the battle for ending up on the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs in the middle of August which last year was won by the Pittsburgh Penguins. As online sportsbooks in US claim, the new season is a new challenge for all the teams whose success will in part depend of how they will integrate in their squads the rookies and the young players who should bare the team’s future. In a series of two articles GamingZion gives you the profiles of the ten young hockey players you should keep your eye on when watching the NHL this 2016/17 season.

Auston Matthews

Auston Matthews is a one of those players about whom we say they have a “sense of the game” at their early “hockey-age”. He is characterized with a wonderful shot release, excellent hands and fast legs which many hockey fans believe might bring him to the top individual awards in near future.

Another great peculiarity about him is that he is also one of the rare guys in hockey that can make a chance on their own in a situation which seems without any further perspective. In the past season he had 46 points in 36 games with the ZSC Lions in the Switzerland’s top pro league, adding also another three assists in four postseason games. The expectation of the people in Toronto Maple Leafs of the first pick in this year’s draft are certainly high and everyone is impatiently waiting for the start of the season to see how the young star will fit the team of Mike Babcock.

Brandon Carlo

Unlike many young players Brandon Carlo seems to have already a physique of an NHL player with his 1.96m and 91 kg. But the fascinating physique is not everything that characterizes the youngster. The great control on the puck in attack and defense as well as the amazing skating abilities is what makes this 19 years old player from Colorado one of the most prosperous young players in NHL.

• Dubois: an all-round player everyone could wish for

• Strome to play a key role in the Coyote’s attack this season

• Huge expectations in the Jets by the Dano/Laine duo
According to sites dealing with online sports betting in Lithuania, Carlo had an impressive score of 27 points, 5 goals and 22 assists in the 52 games played with the Tri City Americans in the Western Hockey League (WHL). There are lots of aspects in the game that he must improve but the most important of them in Boston would be certainly the game in defense. As hockey fans mention, the reason why he is taken in the Boston Bruins team is connected to the need for a top-4 defenseman in the squad. In this respect Carlo is expected to share responsibilities with another new signing of the Bruins, Torey Krug.

Dylan Strome

When you ask a hockey fan about Dylan Strome the first thing you will hear is that he is a real goal machine. Last year his score in the OHL was incredible 111 points in 56 matches. Although only 19 he is already famous for his leader capacities as well as the fearless attitude in the big messes during the game. In general, with a player like this the Coyotes from Arizona can certainly expect great achievements in near future.

Pierre-Luc Dubois

Pierre-Luc Dubois was chosen as a third overall pick in the NHL 2016 draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets, surprising many of the hockey fans which expected Jesse Puljujarvi on his place. However, as sites dealing with bet on sports in Canada note, the traits that he posses of an all-round player with very good offensive abilities seem to make him a better player for the strategies of John Tortorella than Puljujarvi.

Dubois spent the last season in the team of Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he scored 42 goals and 99 points. But the offensive game is not his only quality. In addition, he can also plays a sound, physical defensive game. He already proved that he can skate at all three forward positions, giving possibilities to Tortorella to place him on any position needed in the Jackets.

Marko Dano

Dano seems to be a player who has not shown his full potential in the NHL so far. And the main reason for this many see in the frequent changes of environment by this player. In 2013 he was selected 27th on the draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Last year he moved to Chicago and now moves further to the Winnipeg Jets as part of the Andrew Ladd trade. However, internet betting sites in Austria stress, that if the Jets become the permanent settlement of this young Austrian then the winger might start blossoming this year.

With his excellent winger physique and the fearless engagements in the high-traffic situations, Dano seems to be perfect for the top-6 winger position in the Jets. The team will receive from this year another young hockey star, Patrik Laine, which should also help in the offensive tasks of the team. But how both players will be integrated in the team is something we will soon see.
