Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. has decided to seize control of the $1.1 billion integrated casino Bayshore City Resorts World to complete it in time for 2018 opening.

Manila’s massive gaming complex Entertainment City is set for an ambitious integrated casino, according to gambling news. The project is being backed by Travellers after they agreed to purchase Resorts World Bayshore City Inc. in a deal valued at P16.15 billion, although they only paid a quarter of that vast sum.

The Travellers Group is a gaming and hotel company that is operated by two other prominent firms. Tycoon Andrew Tan’s Alliance Global Group Inc. and Malaysia’s Genting Group are the two respective companies that have purchased 95% of Resorts World Bayshore City Inc. through the Travellers Group.

Grand ambitions for the major complex

The plan is to create a version of the Las Vegas strip in Manila, where a total of four casinos will open their doors to serve millions of tourists and gamblers. Jose Mari Lacson, head of research at stockbroking firm Campos Lanuza and Co., stated that the deal to take over the project seemed like a great idea considering that Travellers was already part of the group.

Reports indicate that Bayshore City Resorts World would boast at least 1,500 hotel rooms to be managed by internationally recognized hospitality brands. The large complex will also have a 3,000 seat Grand Opera House, restaurants, stores, food outlets and amazing gaming facilities that will feature some of the best Philippine poker rooms.
