After two defeats in just two weeks Valencia are drifting away from the Spanish La Liga title run. They need badly to get back on track, and we expect Valencia to outplay Villarreal on their next and last match in 2017.

Valencia are under harsh criticism after two unexpected defeats against Eibar 1-2 and against Getafe 0-1. Thus they are still on top 4 in La Liga, sitting in the 3rd place with 34 points, and it is too early to throw speculations that this is the beginning of a game over for Valencia, especially after they did a very good job during the last two months. They will host one of La Liga difficult rivals and it will not be an easy game, but we expect Valencia to outplay Villarreal and to return to the winning track.

How did Valencia let two losses in?

At first the 10-man Getafe were able to score a shock victory over Valencia, then in less than two weeks Eibar caused a substantial blow to Valencia’s La Liga title hopes when they won 2-1. Eibar sent away the chance for Valencia to close the gap on leaders Barcelona and made it grew to eight points. Valencia also lost their second place to Atletico Madrid.

According to online sportsbooks in Spain the problem is that Valencia’s opponents are not getting to the box often, but they are hitting the target, and for Los Che it is the opposite. Few mistakes can cost dearly. In order for Valencia to stay in touch with La Liga title race, both Simone Zaza and his forward mate Rodrigo Moreno need to lighten up La Liga again with their impressive shot conversion rate. Their abilities did not cool down yet, and we expect them to give us a good show against Villarreal.

Do not bet on Villarreal

The Spanish club Villarreal started the season with very poor performance, and after six games of low results they had to sack Fran Escriba as first-team coach. They named Javi Calleja as a new head coach, helping the team to progress from 14th to the 6th place, but with their last three defeats by Barcelona, Leganes, and Sevilla, they proved to be no rivals for the La Liga giants.
