  • 2021 Honda Classic is held between 18-21 March at PGA National Resort, Florida
  • South-Korean Sung-Jae Im is the defending champion
  • He is also in the favorites this year along with Daniel Berger and Lee Westwood
The next PGA Tour event is the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida starting this Thursday. With US and international top players taking part in it the event is promised to bring more excitement for golf fans. South Korean Sung-Jae Im is the defending champion and one of the top favorites again according to the  2021 Honda Classic betting predictions.  This tournament in Florida was founded in 1972 and has been held in different locations since from Hialeah to Weston. The PGA National Resort and Spa at Palm Beach Gardens has been hosting the event since 2007. With the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation being the main beneficiary. In the former winners of the event we can find Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott and 2021 The Players winner Justin Thomas as well. Just like Jack Nicklaus who also re-designed the course. Which includes the “The Bear Trap” trio of holes from 15-17. South Korean Sung-Jae Im won the tournament last year which was his first PGA Tour victory. Now he is back to defend his title but he won’t have an easy job in the strong field. Which includes four-time PGA Tour winner Daniel Berger and Players Championship runner-up Lee Westwood.

The Florida-born Daniel Berger has been in great form recently with four top 10 finishes in his last six appearances. He won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament in California last month which was his fourth PGA Tour victory. Berger also finished T9 in The Players Championship last week which also increases his chances. Now the 27-year-old player is the top favorite of online sportsbooks in the US with the odds of +1000. Sung-Jae Im managed to win here last year which was his first PGA Tour victory. Now the South Korean player has a real chance to defend his title in the absence of top players. Im is only 22, but he already has a T2 finish from last year’s Masters. But he has been struggling this season so far and only got one top 10 finish back in January. The world No18 showed a better performance at The Players, in a tough course, which is similar to PGA National. We shall see if he can improve now as per his odds of +1200 suggest in the  2021 Honda Classic betting predictions.

Other favorites who will go for the victory

Lee Westwood has achieved his best result in the PGA Tour since 2016  two weeks ago, in the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational. He finished as a runner-up behind Bryson DeChambeau, just like last week at The Players Championship. No surprise that online gambling sites in the US mention him in the top favorites with the odds of +2000. The experienced British player got a T4 finish here last year but he can improve on that following his recent top form. Many golf experts predict the victory of Adam Scott, who has already won the Honda Classic 5 years ago, in 2016. The Australian has been very balanced since returning to the tour last August. But his best result is only a T10 finish in the Farmers Insurance Open at the end of January. Now he has the odds of +2500 to get his 15th PGA Tour win. While another young player, 22-year-old Joaquin Niemann can be a surprise winner. The Chilean player was close to getting his second PGA Tour win in the 2021 Sentry Tournament at the beginning of the year but was defeated by Harris English at the end. Now he can try again with the odds of +1600 to achieve it.
