Casinos in Colombia
Colombia has over two dozen casinos spread across its cities. The majority is concentrated in and around Bogota and Medellin, but casinos can also be found in the Colombian cities of Cali, Cartagena, Cucuta, Palmira and San Andres. Though casinos in Colombia were banned for a short while between 1923 and 1943, they are strong businesses today, and are the foundation of the Colombian gambling industry. Several establishments vie for the title of the country’s largest casino, depending on size (Crown Casino in Santiago de Cali), number of slot machines (Caribe Centro in Bogota) or number of tables (Rio in Medellin).
Online Casinos in Colombia
Online casinos in Colombia are a different story. While online gambling in Colombia is not officially illegal, it is not officially illegal either. The government remains permissive about letting players use foreign online casinos, but has never allowed an internet casino to open inside Colombia. These foreign casinos offer everything a player needs though. There are hundreds of them online today, and not only do many accept players from Colombia, but even offer their services in Spanish.
