The Acropolis Rally of Greece is one of the toughest races due to its heat and tough mountain stages. It is also one of the oldest events since the first race was held in 1951. The race last appeared in the WRC calendar in 2013. Since then it has been a part of the European Rally Championship. The event wasn’t held in the last two years but now it makes its return to the World Rally Championship. Larnia and Central Greece provide the location of the fifteen stages covering 292km.  Sebastien Ogier still leads the drivers’ championship ahead of Elfyn Evans and Thierry Neuville who got his first win of the season in the Belgian Rally last month.

Neuville, Tanak, and Ogier Favored by the 2021 Acropolis Rally Predictions

Thierry Neuville is in top form after winning the Ypres Rally and catching  Evans in second place in the championship. Now the Belgian can continue his winning streak in Greece where he has already competed twice, in 2012 and 2013. He was leading in similar conditions in the Safari Rally this season until a mechanical issue. Actually, he can also be a promising sign for the Hyundai driver and still fighting for his first world championship title after finishing as a runner-up five times. Now online sportsbooks in Greece slightly favor him for the victory with the odds of 3.00.

Ott Tanak follows him closely though with the odds of 3.50. The 2019 world champion is currently only in 5th place in the overall standings, 37 points from the podium. So the Estonian would need a good result now to move closer to the top of the board. He can do it now with a win in Greece where he will start from the fifth place. Which can be a huge advantage over the starting drivers like Sebastien Ogier. The French 7-time world champion will be the first driver on the road on Friday which is never an easy task. But if he can survive the conditions, Ogier can get his fifth victory of the season. He has the odds of 4.50 to do so in the 2021 Acropolis Rally predictions.

Sordo, Evans, and Rovanpera in Other Favorites

Dani Sordo is back in the Hyundai i20 for the fifth time this season with his third co-driver. The pair has already got a win in Spain. Sordo got a second-place finish in Portugal with his former partner but finished outside of the top 10 in the Italian and Kenyan race. The Spanish driver finished second in the last Acropolis Rally in 2013. Now his odds to get an even better result is 8.00 on 22Bet. The same odds are offered to Elfyn Evans by online gambling sites in Greece.

The Welsh driver hasn’t been able to finish on the podium since the Italian race. So getting his second win of the season would be a big boost. Ogier’s teammate at Toyota is currently in second place in the world championship with the same points as Neuville. Evans only raced in Greece once, in 2012 in a smaller category so he needs to adapt quickly to his new driving conditions. While the race will be totally new for 20-year-old Kalle Rovanpera who got his first WRC win in Estonia this summer. He also finished third in the last race in Belgium which explains his odds of 8.00 for another win.
