  • 2021 ATP Geneva Open is held this week, 15-22 May
  • Alexander Zverev won the last event in 2019 but he won’t compete this year
  • Roger Federer is already out, world No16 Casper Ruud is the top favorite now
Roger Federer made his return on home soil but he is already out of the Geneva Open after losing against Spanish Pablo Andujar in the second round. Making other top20 players as favorites who are all mentioned in the 2021 ATP Geneva predictions. Like Norwegian Casper Ruud, who reached the semi-finals in Monte-Carlo and Madrid and can win his second ATP title now.  The Geneva Open is an ATP 250 tournament, which was held between 1980 and 1991. Then it returned back to the calendar in 2015, hosting the former Dusseldorf tournament. Alexander Zverev is the defending champion from 2019 after the cancellation of last year’s event. The German player is not competing this time, but we can still find familiar names in the field. Of course, the most famous one is Roger Federer, who made his first appearance since the Qatar Open two months ago. But the Swiss world No8 is already out of the tournament after his shock defeat against world No80 Pablo Andujar. But we can still find great players in the competition. Like top-form player Casper Ruud, who entered the top 20 for the first time in his career. Or previous open winner Marton Fucsovics who is also having  a great season so far.

2021 ATP Geneva predictions favor young Norwegian to win

22-year-old Casper Ruud arrived in Geneva in superb form after reaching the semi-finals in his last three tournaments. Including two ATP 1000 events in Monte-Carlo and Madrid. He defeated top 10 players Diego Schwartzman and Stefanos Tsitsipas on his way just like Italian Fabio Fognini. Who he can meet again in the final here, if both of them can get there. The Norwegian third seed has one ATP Tour victory so far and the odds of 2.49 to get his second. But he will face first two-time Australian Open quarter-finalist American Tennys Sandgren in the second round. With online sportsbooks in Switzerland favoring Ruud to go through.

Canadian Dennis Shapovalov can also go all the way to the final in Geneva. He has the odds of 4.98 to win the event in the 2021 ATP Geneva predictions. The world No14 reached the third round in Rome last week, where Rafael Nadal stopped him. But the Spanish star needed a tie-break in the third set to win the game. Now Shapovalov can aim for an even better result on his debut appearance in this tournament. Where he can also win his second ATP Tour title.

Fognini and Fucsovics can also win the open

Italian Fabio Fognini reached the quarter-finals in the Monte-Carlo Masters last month where Casper Ruud defeated him. Now he might take revenge on the Norwegian but he won’t have an easy job to reach the final. At first he will face Serbian Laslo Dere. Then he is likely to meet Shapovalov. But the 2011 French Open quarter-finalist performs well on clay courts and has already won 8 ATP Tour titles on this surface. Now his odds to win his next one is 8.00.

Online gambling sites in Switzerland also mention Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the favorites with the odds of 9.00. The 29-year-old player is in great form this season after reaching the final of the Rotterdam Open. Plus the quarter-finals in Dubai and Qatar. Fucsovics won his only ATP title in the Geneva Open in 2018, which certainly makes him a favorite.  While Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov can also perform well here. The world No20 reached the quarter-final of the 2021 Australian Open and the round of 16 in Monte-Carlo. He has 8 ATP titles but the last one from 2017. His odds to get back to winning is 10.50 on 22Bet.
