This is the 17th edition of the one-week tournament previously known as the Eneco and BinckBanck Tour. Belgium and the Netherlands host the event which covers more than 1000km this year. The race has a one-time trial stage and some hilly stages but it also offers several opportunities for sprint finishes. All 19 UCI WorldTeams will participate in the tournament with some great riders. Like former race winners Matej Mohoric, Tom Dumoulin, and Tim Wellens. The 2018 Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas or the 2021 Tour of Flanders winner Kasper Asgreen. Top sprinters such as Peter Sagan, Caleb Ewan, and Dylan Groenewegen will fight in the points classification. While local fans hope for the overall victory of Belgian youngster, Remco Evenepoel. Especially in the absence of last year’s race winner, Mathieu van der Poel.

Evenepoel and Asgreen Lead the Odds in the 2021 Benelux Tour Winner Odds

Remco Evenepoel is one of the biggest talents of the sport at the age of only 21. The QuickStep rider will lead the team in the Benelux Tour and is hoping for another great result on home soil. He won the Tour of Belgium this June and the 2021 Danmark Rundt just a few weeks ago. The young Belgian rider suffered a huge accident last season and returned to racing only in this year’s Giro d’Italia. He had to give up the Italian Grand Tour after another crash but Evenepoel seems to be back in form now. He got the win in two one-day races as well last week after completing successful breakaways. Online sportsbooks in Belgium offer the smallest odds, 2.198 for his overall victory now.

Kasper Asgreen, his Danish teammate, is mentioned in the favorites as well by the 2021 Benelux Tour winner odds. Even though he is likely to have a supportive role this time unless he has a better chance for the overall win. This can be his third UCI World Tour title this season after winning the E3 Saxo Bank Classic and the Tour of Flanders. The Danish national road champion has odds of 7.00 to win the race. While his compatriot, Soren Kragh Andersen also appears in the favorites. The Team DSM rider finished second in this tournament last season behind van der Poel. Now his odds to finish on top are 17.00.

2021 Benelux Tour Winner Odds: Previous Race Winners Can Perform Well Again

The 2017 Giro d’Italia winner and the runner-up of the 2018 Tour de France, Tom Dumoulin still belongs to the top GC riders, even though he hasn’t achieved similar results in the last few years. He won the silver though in the time trial race in the Olympics this summer. It was a successful return from the Jumbo-Visma rider who announced his indefinite leave from cycling at the beginning of the year. After his break and successful appearance in the Olympics Dumoulin can perform well in the race which he won in 2017. Online gambling sites in Belgium offer the odds of 8.00 for his victory.

Another former race winner, Matej Mohoric can race for the blue jersey this year too. The Slovenian won the Benelux Tour in 2018 so has good memories from the race. He has been riding well this season after winning two stages in the 2021 Tour de France. And also finishing second in the Clasica de San Sebastian and the Tour de Pologne last month. Now he has the odds of 13.00 for another victory. Fans can also support another Belgian rider,  Tim Wellens who has already won this event twice before, in 2014 and 2015. The Lotto-Soudal rider got stage wins from earlier Giro d’Italia and Vuelta tournaments. At the beginning of this year, he won the Etoile de Besseges and finished 6th in the Tour of Poland.  Wellens’ odds are 17.00 on 22Bet for his third overall win.
