  • 2021 EFL Championship playoff final is held this Saturday, 29th of May at Wembley
  • Brentford will meet Swansea City for the last Premier League spot
  • The Bees are the favorites to win the game after losing last year’s final against Fulham
There is only one place left in next season’s Premier League after Norwich City and Watford have already got promoted. This Sunday Brentford and Swansea City will meet at Wembley to decide who will join them in the top tier. The 2021 EFL Championship playoff final odds favor Brentford to win the game after losing the same final last season.  Norwich City and Watford finished in the top two places of the 2020-21 EFL Championship season and automatically won promotion to the Premier League. Teams finishing between the third and sixth place took part in the playoff, with the winner also getting promotion to the top tier. Brentford defeated Bournemouth 3-2 on aggregate, while Swansea won against Barnsley in the other semi-final. Now they will face each other in the playoff final. Which is held this Saturday, on the 29th of May at Wembley Stadium. Brentford will make their second appearance in a row after also playing in last year’s final. Then the team lost against Fulham, now they can try again against the Welsh team.

2021 EFL Championship playoff final odds favor The Bees to win promotion

Brentford haven’t played in the top tier of the English football since 1947. So Thomas Frank’s side can achieve a historical victory on Saturday. They need to defeat Swansea to win promotion, just like they did in last year’s playoff. Then the two teams met each other in the semi-final where The Bees won 3-2 on aggregate. But it was in vain as the team lost against Fulham in the 2020 final and stayed in the Championship. Now they have another chance of winning though, with online sportsbooks in the UK favoring them for the victory with the odds of 1.44.  Brentford’s striker, Ivan Toney can be the most dangerous player in the field after scoring 32 goals in the season so far. But Spanish Sergi Canos and Danish Mathias Jensen can also have a key part in the midfield. Just like Ethan Pinnock and Mads Sorensen in the back. The last two meetings of the two teams ended with a 1-1 draw, but fans are not likely to see a similar result again. At least bookmakers offer quite high odds, 6.50 to have extra time and 6.00 for penalties. While Brentford’s win in the normal time has the odds of 1.90 in the 2021 EFL Championship playoff final odds.

Swansea can return to the top flight after 2018

The Welsh team has a more recent history in the Premier League after playing in the top tier between 2011 and 2018. But surely they’d like to get back there and represent Welsh football again. Swansea finished fourth in the Championship. And they beat Barnsley in the other playoff semi-final to earn their place in the final. Steve Cooper’s team can take revenge now on Brentford after last season’s defeat. Online gambling sites in the UK offer the odds of 2.75 for their final victory.

Ghanian Andre Ayew and Jamaican Jamal Lowe scored the most goals in the season. No wonder that they have the smallest odds, 3.75 and 4.00 to score any time. Bad news for the fans that the team will be without long-serving Wayne Routledge after he got injured in the last game. But their previous Premier League experience might be an advantage against their rival. Who lost their last nine play-off games which is the worst record of any club in English football. One thing will be different though to last year. Both teams will play in front of their fans, even if they can only be present in small numbers.
