Voting will be taking place in all parts of Finland except the capital Helsinki, and the semi-autonomous Aland Islands. Voters will determine the composition of the councils’ 21 self-governing counties. This is a new addition to Finland’s electoral and governing system that was approved by the Finnish parliament last June. But what are the 2022 Finland county elections odds for all the competing parties?

According to the best online sportsbooks in Finland, three parties have a chance of winning most seats. They are the National Coalition (KOK), Social Democrats (SDP), and the Finns Party (PS). But, the massive favorite of the three is to no surprise the National Coalition. Here are the recent projects according to the polls, and how each of the three competitors is likely to perform in the race.

Recent Polls Favor the National Coalition

According to a poll commissioned by YLE, and another by Politico, around 21% of the respondents prefer to choose the National Coalition in the county elections. This means the National Coalition will secure most seats in a comfortable fashion. Whereas the Social Democrats will likely get around 19% and the Finns Party stand at roughly 18%.

National Coalition Lead the 2022 Finland County Elections Odds

The right-wing opposition party has been fastening its grip in the polls as the most well-supported political party in Finland. This is probably due to the highly mobilized base that will likely have a higher turnout rate than the rest of the competing parties.

According to the Helsinki Times, the National Coalition has won the last municipal elections. So, it somehow already passed the test last year. If you wish to pick the National Coalition to win most seats you may do so at 22BET Sportsbook. Their odds are 1.25 which makes them the top favorites.

Social Democrats Are the Closest Contenders

Prime Minister Sanna Marin’s Social Democratic Party has traditionally performed well in the municipal elections. Thus being among top contenders with 2.75 odds to win most seats is no surprise. Yet, after the Social Democrats narrowly won the 2019 general elections, their popularity has been on a downward trend. So, most likely it will not be an easy race for them to win.

The Finns Party Has Some Genuine Concerns

The other right-wing party is about to experience the first election with the new chair Riikka Purra at the helm. The party has been doing great in the polls.

Therefore, it stands at 6.5 to win most seats, according to 2022 Finland county elections odds. But, there are some genuine concerns about the party being able to mobilize its supporters.

Last year the Finns Party won 14.5% in the municipal elections. And, the greatest problem was that many of its supporters failed to show up at the polls on election day. There are expectations that this time around it might happen again. However, these are only expectations so it remains to be seen if it will be different.
