Skaters can qualify for the ISU Grand Prix Final every year based on their results in the season’s Grand Prix events. This year six competition was held in six different locations from the USA to Japan. The final is hosted by a familiar winter sports center, Turin, which also hosted the last final three years ago.  Following the cancellation of the previous two events, fans can finally support their favorites in the first major figure skating competition of the season. Japanese skaters can dominate in the absence of Russian skaters who have been banned from competing. But top American and European skaters can also fight for the gold medal in both competitions. One thing is certain, there will be a new winner after none of the previous winners will take part in the final now.

2022 ISU Grand Prix Final Odds Mention Malinin and Uno as Top Favorites in Men’s Event

Shoma Uno is the reigning men’s world champion and one of the top favorites to win his first Grand Prix Final in Turin. Online sportsbooks in Japan offer an odds of 2.50 for his victory. He won two Grand Prix events this season in Canada and Japan. After the retirement of two-time Olympic and world champion Yuzuru Hanyu, Uno has become the biggest favorite for the gold medal in the world championship. The 24-year-old Japanese skater was the runner-up in the 2017 and 2018 Grand Prix Finals. Finishing behind American Nathan Chan on both occasions.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2Ya4cJ2L0c Now another US skater, Ilia Malinin can be his main rival, who had an even bigger chance of winning ahead of the competition with odds of 2.30. The young, 18-year-old skater is one of the biggest talents of American figure skating. He won the junior world championship last season and holds the junior world record. In his first Grand Prix season, Malinin has already won two events. But after his short program, he only stands in fifth place now. We can find two other Japanese skaters on the podium at the moment, Sota Yamamoto and Kao Miura. Yamamoto reached his best result this season after finishing second in two Grand Prix events. He is favored to finish ahead of 17-year-old Miura who was also runner-up in GP events.

Japanese Favorites Lead the Women’s Event

Only Japanese and Russian skaters won the Ladies Singles Grand Prix Finals in the last decade. But Russian athletes have been banned from the competition leaving the Asian skaters as favorites. The current world champion, Kaori Sakamoto is favored by online gambling sites in Japan now. They offer the smallest odds, 3.00 for her victory on her second Grand Prix Final appearance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZWjgHESoaM The 22-year-old skater won Skate America with a very confident performance and finished second at the NHK Trophy on home soil. She is hard to beat if she gives her best. But as we know, everyone can make mistakes, especially on ice. Her compatriot, Mai Mihara is the only participant in the final who managed to win two GP events this season.  She won her first gold medal in the circuit and will make her debut in the final. The two-time Four Continent champion has a very expressive style, making her another top contender. Her odds to finish on top of the podium are 3.50. Similar odds are offered for the victory of the only European skater in the final, Loena Hendrickx. She is the first Belgian skater to win a medal in the world championship after winning the silver this year. Hendrickx is also the first Belgian to take part in the Grand Prix Final. Thanks to her win in France and second place finish in Finland. American Isabeau Levito didn’t win any event but finished twice as a runner-up which also qualified her for the final. The 15-year-old skater is the junior world champion with an odds of 10.00 to win her first major senior title.
