  • 2022 NASCAR Quaker State 400 is held on the 10th of July at Atlanta Motor Speedway
  • Kurt Busch won this race last year which was his third victory
  • Chase Elliott and his rivals, Ryan Blaney and Ross Chastain are the favorites now

The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series continues this weekend at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. The 2020 champion, Chase Elliott leads the championship, and he is the top favorite to win this weekend according to the 2022 NASCAR Quaker State 400 odds. But his main rivals this season, Ryan Blaney and Ross Chastain follow him closely among the main favorites.

Following a ten-year break between 2011 and 2020, the summer race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway returned to the NASCAR calendar last year. Kurt Busch won the event last year at the 1,54-mile quad-oval course. The first summer race was held at the track in 1960 but it was a 500-mile race back then. Now at a shorter distance but still at a speedy track, drivers will aim for the trophy at the 19th race of the season.

Besides Kurt Busch only one current driver, Kyle Busch managed to win this race before. He can do well again at the track just like the best drivers of this season’s championship. Like the leader, Chase Elliott who finished in the top two in the last two events. Or his chasers, Ryan Blaney and Ross Chastain who follow him in the overall standings.

Top Drivers Lead the 2022 NASCAR Quaker State 400 Odds

Online sportsbooks in the US offer the same odds, +900.00 for the first two drivers of the 2022 championship, Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney. Elliott leads the standings 33 points ahead of Blaney thanks to his latest results. As the Hendrick Motorsports driver won his second race of the season in Nashville.

And he also finished second in the previous race in Wisconsin. Elliott finished sixth at this track in the spring race, now he can improve on this result. Just like Blaney, who was only 17th in the first event of the season here. But he got the win in the spring race last year, making him another favorite.

Plus, his performance has been very balanced this season with eight top-6 finishes. In spite of not winning any race yet, the Team Penske driver can do well in this race and even get the first win of the season. Ross Chastain has been having the best season of his career. He managed to get his first win in the series in Austin, then he doubled it at Talladega.

The 29-year-old driver is currently in third place, only two points behind Blaney. The Trackhouse Racing Team driver also got four top-4 finishes in the season. Including a runner-up finish at this track in the spring. His odds of winning now are +1000.00 in the 2022 NASCAR Quaker State 400 odds.

Former Race Winners and NASCAR Champions are Among Other Favorites

The defending Cup Series champion, Kyle Larson is not much behind with the odds of +1100.00. After a win in California and a second-place finish in Las Vegas at the beginning of the season, he had some weaker results in the following races. But he got back to a better form later. Elliott’s teammate stands currently in fourth place in the championship.

At this track, Larson was only 30th in the spring race, but he got two second-place finishes in previous years. William Byron won the race here in March, which was his first win of the season. He got another in Martinsville, but the rest of his season wasn’t that great so far.

The 24-year-old driver stands in 10th place in the championship. So, he would need some extra points to move up in the table. His odds to get the maximum here are +1200.00. Online gambling sites in the US offer the same odds for the victory of a previous race winner, Kyle Busch. He won the race back in 2008 when it was still run over 500 miles. But the 2019 champion also finished second here last year.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver is in 6th place at the moment in the championship with one win and six more top-6 finishes. While one of the most successful drivers at the track, Kurt Busch has a weaker season this year. He is only in 15th place in the championship with the odds of +2200.00 to get the win this weekend.
