We can find at least one Brazilian player in most top European clubs from Real Madrid to Liverpool. But with the huge pool of players, year by year new talents are emerging and getting signed by these clubs. Most of them become a key member of their teams, like Vinicius Junior or Emerson. Let’s see the best Brazilian talents right now.
There is an endless list of great Brazilian players from Neymar to Thiago Silva. Not to mention former legendary players like Pele, Ronaldo or Ronaldinho. Football has become Brazil’s best export, with their players sought after by all top clubs. Even though most young players start their careers at home, playing for a Brazilian club, most of them move to Europe soon. Of course, you can still find great talents playing in the Brazilian Serie A. But to become a member of the Brazilian national team, usually you need to perform in a top European club. Players are aware of this, and join them as soon as they can. Just like the following young talented players did.
Emerson is in the best Brazilian talents right now
The 21-year-old right-back, Emerson joined top Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro in 2018. The team which is one of the favorites of online sportsbooks in Brazil to win the league this season. In the following year, in 2019 Barcelona announced Emerson’s signing. Still he became a player of Real Betis with Barca having the option to buy him this year. We shall see if the Brazilian joins the Catalans, which might come true after his superb performance last season.
He played in 33 games and scored 3 goals in La Liga. And he continued at a similar level this season. After playing for the Brazil U-20 team and winning the 2019 Toulon Tournament with the U-23 team, Emerson made his senior debut in November 2019 against South Korea. Surely he can become a regular member of the team if he can keep up his good form at his club.
Brazilian players of Real Madrid
Staying in Spain, we have to mention two great players who feature in Real Madrid. One of them, Vinicius Junior is already a key member of the team and one of the best young players at the moment. He started his career in Flamengo and joined Real in 2018, at the age of only 18. His transfer fee was €46 million which was the second highest fee paid for a Brazilian player behind Neymar. The right winger has already played superbly in his first season, scoring goals in the Champions League and Cope del Rey as well. With his pace and energy, he became a great asset for Zinedine Zidane’s team and also made his senior debut in the national team.
Another representative of the best Brazilian talents right now is his teammate, Rodrygo, who joined Real from Santos in 2019. He scored his first goal in the first minute of his La Liga debut against Osasuna. The 20-year old winger also scored a hat-trick against Galatasaray in the 2019-20 Champions League season. Perfect start for Rodrygo, who also appeared in the national team at the end of 2019.
Top young Brazilian strikers, Martinelli and Matheus Cunha
Gabriel Martinelli is a great young Brazilian forward, who has been playing for Arsenal since 2019. In his debut season he made 26 appearances and scored 10 goals including all tournaments. After scoring two goals against Liverpool in the League Cup, he was also voted Player of the Month at the club. Not a bad performance at the age of 18, with not much top level football experience. Sadly he had to miss 6-months after a knee injury, but made his comeback a few weeks ago in a PL game against Everton.
Matheus Cunha tried to make an impact in Bundesliga team RB Leipzig after joining them in 2018. But he was struggling at the club and only scored 9 goals in two seasons. He was signed by Hertha BSC last January where Cunha found his form again. He scored 12 goals in 24 appearances. The striker who can play on the wings and in the centre as well also had 14 goals for Brazil’s Olympic team. No surprise that he was called up to the senior team for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Further Brazil talents in top European clubs
The centre back for Serie A club SS Lazio, Luiz Felipe has improved a lot since joining the team in 2016. After spending his first year on loan at Serie B side Salernitana, he moved to Lazio in the following year and became a regular member of the team. Felipe had 26 appearances and one goal last season when he could also meet his compatriot, Lucas Paqueta in the games against AC Milan.
The 23-year old midfielder joined Milan in January 2019 from Flamengo and spent two seasons there. He improved a lot in his 44 appearances and made his debut in the national team in 2018. Since then he has played in 13 games and scored two goals. Paqueta was also a member of the team which won the 2019 Copa America. Last summer he moved to Olympique Lyon for a €20 million transfer fee. While former Sao Paulo player Antony joined top Dutch side Ajax last February. The 20-year-old winger has already scored five goals in 14 appearances for his new club and can be a main target for several other clubs in the future.
