Best Golf Players of All Times: Jack Nicklaus ‘The Golden Bear’

If you are into golf and are familiar with its history you must have heard Nicklaus’s name. He is one of the biggest golf legends and is often compared to Tiger Woods. The two achieved amazing things in the sport so they kind of share the first place on the best golf players of all times list. In case you are new to the golfing community let us tell you more about Jack Nicklaus. It’s a name you can’t see at an online sportsbook in the US when you put on golf bets. As most fans call him The Golden Bear is 84 years old now, and when he started golfing you couldn’t put on bets online.

He won his first golf tournament in 1959. Even though it was the U.S. amateur he made an amazing entrance. And from that on he made an amazing career. Although Tiger Woods and even Sam Snead won more PGA Tour tournaments than him, the Golden Bear was unrivaled when it came to major championships. He didn’t not only win 18 majors, he even finished the second 19 times. He won at least three majors and placed in the top two within every major nearly eight times. What’s more, no other golfer has more than 46 top-10 finishes, while Jack Nicklaus has 73 top-10 finishes and 56 top-five finishes. From 1971 through 1977, he finished in the top five in 23 of the 28 majors, featuring six victories.

All in all between 1963 and 1980, he won five US Open championships. He published many books and established a golf equipment manufacturing firm towards the conclusion of his career. In 1974, he became one of the first players to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. What makes him an even more outstanding player is that he won the Masters at age 46. With that, he is the only one who could do that at that age. To sum it up Nicklaus is a living legend and the best player of all time.

Tiger Woods: A Living Legend

Moving on we have another golf star that millions watched playing. Some say many people started to like golf because of him. Also as we said there is a never-ending conversation if he or Nicklaus is the better player. Anyways, they are both living legends and their accomplishments are just amazing. Just the fact that Woods has 79 PGA Tour victories speaks for itself. He was about the be the best golf player of all time. And even though he did become one of the brightest stars, he could have achieved more. Well, we’ll tell you more about this matter later!

Woods got into the best 30 in 44 of 46 majors between 1997 and 2008, winning 14 of them. He won four majors in a row in 2000-01, making him the first player to ever win all four major championships at once. And it wasn’t even the most outstanding part of his career; from 2005 through 2008, Woods finished in the top in 12 of 14 majors, including six victories. Before reaching 33, Woods has won all 14 majors (at least three of each) and 65 of his 79 PGA tournaments. It came to the point where if he had been in four-stroke of the lead coming into Sunday, you simply thought he’d win. For the last 18, the only uncertainty was how many strokes Tiger would win by.

Unfortunately, everything comes to an end, and for Tiger Woods, it was knee surgery. And after that another one and a back injury. What’s more, he even had a scandal around 2009. So after that, he wasn’t quite the same and if it wasn’t for his injury he could have achieved so much more. Even though he is one of the legends of golf. And if you want to bet on any golf games don’t forget to visit one of the online gambling sites in the US!

Best Golf Players of All Times: Ben Hogen

At number three we have another golf star, Ben Hogen. You might not remember him, because he was an active player long before today. Ben Hogan put in the most practice time of any player on the team. He put in a lot of time practicing and perfecting his technique.

This is one of the reasons why he is considered a golf icon. And he also had a very interesting life. Besides joining the army and surviving a car crash in which he received many serious injuries he won the four major championships. And also 63 professional tournaments from 1938 to 1959. Amazing, isn’t it?

He appeared in 32 major tournaments between 1940 and 1956. And believe us, u t would be more if WWII hadn’t happened.  Excluding the 1947 PGA Championship, Hogan placed in the top ten in each of the 32 events, 21 times in the top four, and won nine times. Hogan also came close to winning ten majors in the 1942 Masters, 1954 Masters, and 1955 U.S. Open, all of which he lost in a playoff. Hogan finished in the top ten in 40 of the 58 majors he competed in throughout his career. Which is    There’s a high probability that if Hogan had participated in as many championships as those players, he’d be the indisputable best of all times.
