All in all, this year’s Palme d’Or winner Parasite is present in six Oscar categories. So, the film’s nominations are in the top categories like Best Picture, Original Screenplay, and Directing. And, of course, it is a favorite in the International Feature Film category.

Parasite is the first South Korean movie to have a chance of winning the Best Picture Oscar. Additionally, Bong Joon-ho is the first Korean filmmaker nominated for a Best Director award at the Oscars.

Parasite started its awards run at the Cannes Film Festival by winning the Palme d’Or. Thus, this made Bong Joon Ho the first South Korean filmmaker to win the Cannes Film Festival’s top prize.

Many critics call Parasite a work of art in directing. Thanks to Bong’s brilliant directing and how detailed every frame of the film is.
