Deanna Bergeron from Orillia, Canada, has been crowned the new lottery winner after having the correct numbers to a $50 million jackpot.

Mobile casinos report that while visiting a store to buy some ice-cream for her fiancé, 30-year-old Deanna Bergeron also decided to try her usual luck with lottery. At the store’s check-out she purchased some lottery tickets as she knew that the jackpot stood at a jaw-dropping $50 million.

Bergeron, who is a personal trainer, commented that this time around instead of only purchasing a single ticket, she opted to buy two. Realizing the staggering amount involved she wanted to increase her winning chances.

“I usually but lottery tickets when I know the jackpot is large and for some reason I bought two,” Bergeron said. Jeff Bourret, Bergeron’s fiancé, also expressed his overwhelming delight that she made the decision to purchase two tickets, stating, “And I am so glad she did!”

Pair will use the money to travel and purchase several cars

After they realized that their ticket numbers matched the ones of the lottery, they travelled to Toronto to claim their massive check and gave insight into the background story. Last Sunday Bergeron’s mother heard about the ticket originating from Orillia and decided to call her daughter up to check it the numbers corresponded, according to gambling news.

Soon afterwards Bergeron texted an image of the ticket to her fiancé to also examine the numbers. Bourret, a government worker, quickly left work and drove to pick up Bergeron after which they proceeded to the store where the singing lottery machine confirmed they were the winners. Now they plan on travelling and buying a few cars for themselves.
