The Czech gambling tax will rise to 35% on slot machines while the taxation of sport betting remains the same 23%.

The Czech lower house approved a bill that would raise the tax rate on slot machines winnings. The new tax will be collected on top of the existing 19% corporate tax rate. Even though the bill was passed by the lower house it still needs the approval of the Senate. In 2014, Czech players spent USD 5,8 billion on gambling. The legislators’ aim is to decrease gambling related problems, such as addiction.
