State legislation passed a bill 100-28 declaring DFS in Minnesota legal. They also regulate the daily fantasy sports market in the state.

As daily fantasy sports are becoming legal according to more and more state’s US gambling laws, the North Star State’s lawmakers also discussed the question. A bill regulating the market was passed by state legislation, pronouncing DFS in Minnesota legal.

Both parties supported the bill declaring DFS in Minnesota legal

Minnesota legislation argued that daily fantasy sports is a game of skill and it is not illegal gambling according to state gambling laws. Rep. Tim Sanders commented the DFS in Minnesota legal US gambling news, saying, “I’m happy that we could pass this bill to guarantee fantasy sports remain legal in Minnesota.”

In Minnesota, the majority of both the Republican and the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party lawmakers supported the proposal. The biggest argument was about player protections. In the end, the following regulations made the amendment of the bill: players must be at least 18 years of age, athletes and officials cannot bet on themselves, let player ban themselves from playing, scripts and tools by which certain players can gain advantage must be blocked.
