Ex-chief Executive of Bitcoin Avoids Prison

Head of the Seals with Clubs poker site Bryan Micon was sentenced for a probation period only.

Bryan Micon, ex-chief executive of Bitcoin avoided the custodial sentence after reaching a deal with Nevada prosecutors. Micon, who was a previous head of the “Seals with Clubs” Bitcoin poker site, was accused of operating an unlicensed online gambling sites in the US.

A dramatic stream of events made Micon leave the States and fled to Antigua. In April his “Seals with Clubs” poker website was shut down after a previous raid of the Nevada Gaming Commission officials in Micon’s home. Much of his electronics were seized by the police and he complained publicly for the whole process. From Antiqua he launched another Bitcoin poker site called SwCPoker.

Only on a probation period


Micon appeared yesterday in the district court of Las Vegas and was pled guilty to the charges. However after a deal with the prosecutor he was handed a period of probation after which he can appeal for reduction of his criminal record to a status of misdemeanor. His next appearance in the court is scheduled for July 6, when the length of his probation will be determined by the court, gambling news report.

However the probation period in not the only thing that the court imposed on Micon. He is also obliged to pay a USD 25,000 fine and to give up officially of the electronics that were seized during the raid of the police in his home in February. The prosecution of Micon is the first suit against an illegal online poker site in Nevada.
