The man called “Money” proves he can win it as well as be it.

Unified Welterweight Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. decided to put some of his winnings to work by posting some bets within the confines of US gambling laws using his Instagram account. The 38-year old placed wagers on basketball and a boxing bout between Willy Monroe and Gennady Golovkin. Mayweather put down USD 350,000 and made USD 827,272. The Golvkin fight put USD 115,000 in Mayweather’s pocket.

Mayweather placed bets on three NBA games between the 14th and 17th of May. In the match between the Houston Rockets and the Las Angeles Clippers, Mayweather bet USD 50,000 and made USD 235,000. When the Atlantic Hawks took on the Washington Wizards, Mayweather won USD 286,363 from a wager of USD 150,000. From the Houston Rockets-L.A Clippers game Mayweather won USD 190,000.

Mayweather is no newcomer to sports betting

“The last 4 days have been great. I’m getting paid while watching others entertain and perform. I don’t do anything for free. I bet $350,000 and walked away with $827,272.” Well known in US gambling news, Mayweather has definitely done more than “dip his feet” in the sports betting pool. Last October, Mayweather placed USD 800,000 on a NFL game between the Arizona and Oakland and took home USD 1.5 million.

A week prior to that, Mayweather placed USD 815,000 on the Denver Broncos to defeat the New York Jets. After his win, Mayweather took home USD 1.44 million. It has been reported that Mayweather had won a series of bets between August of 2010 and February of 2012. The 46 bets, equaling USD 3,890,833, placed by Mayweather were almost perfect and resulted in almost USD 4 million in earnings.
