Football transfer news is always an exciting topic to talk about. This January, when the transfer market opens again, it seems like it will be a month of the goalkeepers.

The football transfer window opens up once again as soon as the new year begins, which will give source for online sportsbook news sites in Spain to write about. Many great players’ contracts are about to expire, including the likes of Chiellini, Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Özil.

These players will be free to talk to any club they wish to, as of 1 January, 2018. Yet it’s possible that their new clubs won’t be the most exciting football transfer rumours this January: we expect lots of goalkeeper transfer news to happen as many of the best European clubs are in search of a top goalie…

And many great goalkeepers seem to be wanting a change of environment. But which teams would want to replace their current #1s? And who are the options, which goalkeeper will decide to join either Liveprool, Chelsea and Real Madrid? Check out the latest goalkeeper transfer news!

Real Madrid aim to replace both their keepers?

Real Madrid goalkeepers are homegrown player Kiko Casilla and Costa Rica internation Keylor Navas. The former is an extremely insecure goalie who is probably leaving Real Madrid as soon as given the chance. He played only a few games but never managed to play one full game without a major mistake.

Casilla is likely to be replaced by Athletic Bilbao’s goalkeeper youngster Kepa. It’s pretty much a closed deal, the talented Spanish goalkeeper has a buy-out clause of €20 million, he will most probably join Los Blancos in January, and Kiko Casilla is likely to leave. Keylor’s situation is much more complicated than that.

The Costa Rican has taken crucial part in winning two Champions League titles, he has been playing in superb form ever since he joined Galacticos, yet they never wanted him. There has been several goalkeeper transfer rumours in the previous seasons, as Real Madrid were chasing Man Utd’s David De Gea to replace Navas.

However, that deal never happened due to a ridiculous reason, but that’s a different story. This time, according to online sportsbook sites in Spain Courtois wants to move back to Madrid, and Real Madrid would love to have the Belgian international as the new Galactico. Do you think Courtois will leave Chelsea for Los Merengues?

Who would replace Courtois at Chelsea?

Let’s assume that Couurtois left Chelsea by now. Who will be the new goalkeeper at CFC? They will also be involved in several goalkeeper transfer news. A likely candidate is for Chelsea to do the same old thing all over again: capture a world class goalie from Atletico Madrid.

Courtois played for the Rojiblancos on loan and Chelsea brought him back when he was good enough to fit in the team. Now Atletico’s talented Slovenian goalie might also want to take his career to the next level, and a Chelsea move would be the perfect step for him. Will Chelsea buy Oblak? Will Oblak join Chelsea?

Liverpool hope to get rid of Mignolet

Livepool are also having troubles finding the perfect goalkeeper in recent years, and their entire defence is a mess. See more upon looking up Virgil Van Dijk’s transfer fee. The problem is, that Liverpool betting odds in the online sportsbook directory make us believe that Liverpool conceding is an expected event at every game they play.

That is of course a result of lack of quality in defenders and another reason is the fact that Simon Mignolet is definitely not a goalkeeper for a team at the highest level. He makes too many mistakes. But who could replace Mignolet at Liverpool’s goal? Well, pretty much anybody, but we just shouldn’t say that.

According to the latest goalkeeper transfer news in the UK, Liverpool hopes to bring in AS Monaco’s Danijel Subasic, the 32-year-old Croatian goalkeeper. Another popular prediction is RB Leipzig’s Hungarian goalie, Gulácsi Péter, but Liveprool doesn’t have a bright history with Hungarian goalkeepers, so…he might not be the number one pick for the #1 position.

However, goalkeeper transfer news round up in a perfect circle according to several UK sources. As Real Madrid aim to bring Courtois in, and sell Keylor Navas, while Klopp is looking for a greater talent. The Costa Rican would perfectly fit in his team and the German manager would also be happy to see Keylor Navas forming part of his team.

Is that how the goalkeeper transfer news this January are about to happen? Will Chelsea’s #1 switch for Real Madrid, and the Galactico will turn Red instead? Or are these things happening only in the summer, or not at all? We’ll see soon, but the goalkeeper transfer news is definitely a topic to talk about this January!
