It may well be a nice walk spoilt, but a bet on golf in 2021 could be great fun. There’s a plethora of superb tournaments on the calendar and some big names competing in them. Dustin Johnson looks to be the man on form right now. He’s a favorite nearly everywhere. However online betting sites in the US like Bovada will give you good odds on Rory McIlroy too. Not to mention dangerous Jon Rahm and the big hitter Bryson Dechambeau. But just who will come out on top?

There is a temptation to bet on Rory McIlroy finally hitting his potential form consistently in 2021. He’s shown glimpses of his true abilities recently, and this could be his year. But he will have to battle by the likes of Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, and Xander Schauffele to do so. Potential winners pack the leaderboard these days. Even leaving aside the romantic inclination to bet on Tiger Woods, the odds on golf Majors are always very tight. 2021 is no exception to that.

Of course, the schedule will be a little tighter than usual, but it does mean we have a great season ahead. The first major will be, naturally, the Masters, that annual visit to Augusta National. Johnson leads the odds on the Masters right now, but that could change. Bovada might not give him 9/1 by the time April rolls around. Still, that’s not a bad price and he’s worth taking advantage of US gambling laws to back. He’s probably the quickest and easiest bet on golf in 2021.

Can Rory Win A Major Tournament In 2021?

The PGA Championship swings over to South Carolina and the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island. That should be quite the breezy contest and even a bet on Dustin Johnson is risky. Given the conditions could be blustery I’d pick Jon Rahm at 11/1 for this one. He’s no slouch in the wind. Unfortunately, Torrey Pines in California is hosting the US Open and is likely to be as still as a dead ferret. This will probably give Bryson Dechambeau and his driver the edge they need to win.

Major Golf Tournaments

  • The Masters – April 8th-11th – Augusta National
  • The PGA Championship – May 20th-23rd – Kiawah Island
  • US Open – June 17th-20th – Torrey Pines
  • Open Championship – July 15th-18th – Royal St. Georges

At 14/1 he’s a great bet on golf in 2021 and a superb bet on the US Open. Of course, Rory gets slightly shorter odds on the US Open, but not by much. Possibly not enough to make him more tempting than Bryson, even the 11/1 on Jon Rahm looks slightly askew. Still, it’ll be a nice little bet on sports in the US before the final major takes the tour overseas. Royal St George’s in Kent, the UK, will host the Open Tournament and is likely to produce some very interesting golf.

Bet On Golf In 2021 At Bovada Today

Now typically that would be that. However, this is 2021, and we also get the fabulous Solheim and Ryder Cups to look forward to. The ladies are playing at the Inverness Club in Toledo Ohio. The men at Whistling Straits, Wisconsin. Both tournaments should be a superb contest between Europe and the United States, and also a great bet on golf in 2021. The odds on the Solheim Cup at Bovada and the like currently give the US the lead at 1/2, Europe only managing a distant 2/1.

International Contests

  • Solheim Cup – August 31st-September 6th – Inverness Club
  • Ryder Cup – September 21st-26th – Whistling Straits

The odds on the Ryder Cup are a little closer. The US only gets 4/6 to win at online sportsbook sites in the US like Bovada, with Europe at 6/4. Just which way that will swing is going to be one of the things that makes a bet on golf in 2021 interesting. So whether you plump for a bet on Bryson Dechambeau or Europe to win the Ryder Cup, Jon Rahm to win the US Open or Rory McIlroy to win in Kent, there’s something for everyone this year on the golfing betting calendar.
