If Lin Dan wins another gold medal in Brazil, he will be in consideration for the best Chinese athlete in history.

If you haven’t heard of Lin “super” Dan, go ahead and Google him. Dan is arguably the greatest badminton player in history, having won numerous international tournaments, and gold medals in the past two Olympic Games. He will look to make US gambling news and a hat trick in Brazil, and if Lin Dan wins gold again, he could be considered one of the most dominant athletes in Chinese history.

Lin Dan took up badminton at the age of five. By the time he was 12, he had won the National Junior Championship and was quickly scouted by the People’s Liberation Army sports team. At age 18, Dan was officially inducted into the Chinese National Badminton Team, and has continued to find success ever since.

Lin Dan’s badminton accomplishments are too many to list, but some of his major titles include the 2010, 2011, and 2014 Asian Championships gold medal, the 2009 East Asia Games gold medal, 2013 World Championship gold medal, and both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic gold medals. To say Lin Dan is dominant is an understatement. He is a league above almost all of his competition.

Lin Dan will likely take on an old rival

Lee Chong Wei is generally regarded as the second best badminton player in the world. He has come up short against Dan in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic games, winning silver both times. Wei has stated that the 2016 Olympic Games will likely be his last, and will look to dethrone “super” Dan once and for all.

If Lin Dan wins gold again, he will likely be considered one of the greatest Chinese athletes in history. China has produced a number of incredible athletes over the years including Zou Kai, Wu Minxia, and Wanga Nan. A gold medal in Rio will certainly put Dan into the long list of historical Chinese athletes.

Can Lin Dan win gold for a third straight time? Will Lee Chong Wei finally get his revenge with a victory of “super” Dan? Leave your comments below, and make sure to check out GamingZion’s list of online sportsbooks in the US to find the best websites for betting on the 2016 Olympics!
