The warm up for the upcoming season, the IHF Super Globe 2015, will again gather the best handball team of all continents in the heat of Doha.

As it is the case with football there is also in the handball world something that is called “an unofficial handball club’s championship.” That’s the traditional IHF Super Globe tournament that in the last five years is played in Doha. The International Handball Federation have informed the media yesterday about the participants of this year’s edition which will take place from 7 until 10th of September in Doha, gambling news report.

• IHF Super Globe 2015 with 3 European teams
• EHF Cup winner integrated into the tournament
• Barcelona and Veszprem with 50-50 chances
The Qatari’s appetites for top handball have grown amazingly as their national team secured a silver medal at the last World Championship in handball. So they will again have the opportunity to see the crème de la crème of world handball. However, there will be changes concerning the participants and the system of play will start to be implemented, beginning from this Super Globe edition.

Three European teams on the IHF Super Globe 2015

As the sites of some of the most popular online sportsbooks in EU report, Europe will have three teams on the following edition of the Super Globe: the European champion FC Barcelona Lassa, MKB-MVM Veszprem and Fuchse Belrin. It was usual in the past years to see the EHF Champions League winner and the runner up in Doha. However the IHF is changing their strategy a little bit. In order to have higher quality level on the tournament the International Handball Federation decided to include in the tournament the EHF Cup Champion too. That’s why besides Barcelona and the runner up Veszprem, we will also see the “foxes” from Berlin in Doha.

The host retained the two places on the tournament for the Qatari teams. Al Saad, the surprising finalist from last year’s tournament will participate as the host, while the other Qatari team Lekhwiya, will take place as representative of Asia. So essentially, a Tunisian team finally finds a place on the tournament. The best African handball nation will send Club African as representative of Africa on the tournament. Sydney University and Taubate from Brazil, names already well know from the previous tournaments, will represent Oceania and Pan America respectively.

As online gambling news in EU report, the playing system of Super Globe will also be changed. In the last two editions the Super Globe there were two groups out of which the best two teams played in a semifinal. The new system, however, is a knock-out system with quarterfinals, semifinals and a final.

Will the IHF Super Globe 2015 end up again in Barcelona?

One doesn’t need to be a handball geek in order to know which teams will play the final of the Super Globe. But which one will win it is a bit of a tricky question. Barcelona seems to be a team in which many newcomers need to be integrated in the period before the beginning of the Euro-season. Marko Kopljar, Kamil Sziprzak, and the replacement for Nikola Karabatic will first need to get used to the style of play that Xavi Pasqual prefers, before becoming the ones that will drive the machine called “Barcelona” to new titles. Veszprem on the other side will have only one important player to incorporate, the central back Aron Palmarsson, having the skeleton of the rest of the team unchanged.

The replacement of Nikola Karabatic, or Mr. Unknown from today’s perspective, plays an extremely important role in determining the winner of this very probable final duel. Many handball portals have already announced the replacement is Filip Jicha then it seems that Barcelona will be a favorite in the match. Otherwise, any other replacement, which is not Mikkel Hansen, would make the chances of both teams 50%-50%. Lazarov, Rutenka, Saric. Nagy, Ilic, Mikler on the other. Fortunately the final cannot end draw.

The Super Globe tournament is always a good chance for the greatest European teams to see what they dispose with, how much should they improve and which mistakes to correct. Even if we don’t see some highest level of world class handball on this traditional tournament, we all watch it because is the first official major tournament after the EHF Champions League final in May. It can also serve us as a nice indication for predicting the favorites in the season to come. For the European clubs on the other side it is mainly one of their favorite source of additional incomes. The prize for the winner is 800.000 Euros. Nice amount for 3 days handball.
