The Premier League does not have any games on the agenda for this upcoming weekend, however luckily we still have plenty of amazing matches to look forward to thanks to Spanish football. Spanish gambling news report that 18 teams will go up against one another over the weekend, while another two teams will square off on Monday evening.

• Atletico Madrid will clash with rivals Rayo Vallecano
• Real Sociedad looking to beat Eibar
• Athletic Bilbao and Malaga will lock horns on Sunday evening
In Part I of La Liga betting preview we will look at Atletico Madrid take on Rayo Vallecano at home, while Eibar will face a battle against Real Sociedad. We will also have a chance to see a clash between Deportivo La Coruna and Granada, a game which should prove to be interesting for betting enthusiasts. Athletic Bilbao will host Malaga in a match that bears a great deal of uncertainty.

Atletico Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad vs Eibar

Atletico Madrid will face Barcelona tonight in the Cup so they will do all they can against the Catalan powerhouse to proceed to the semi-finals of the competition. The result of the match could have very different effects on their next game in La Liga, which will see them go up against Rayo Vallecano.

La Liga Matches of the Week

Atletico are 3rd in the league and maintain an impressive home record of 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, which means that they probably should beat Rayo with relative ease considering that they sit in 10th position with only 23 points. The visitors also have an away record of 5 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses, which has propelled Bet365 to favor Atletico for the win 1.25 (1/4), especially since they’re playing at home. A draw stands at 6.00 (5/1), however that event is not likely.

Real Sociedad and Eibar will lock horns after the match between Atletico and Rayo. Many online sportsbooks in Spain are convinced that Sociedad will be able to pull this game off 1.75 (3/4), judging by their better standing and recent results. Their home record is 4 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses, which is why they are favorites. However their standing on the table (12th place) is worse than Eibar’s (8th place), which may lead some punters to take this into equation when betting.

The visiting side have notched 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses while playing on the road and for this reason they have been dealt unfavorable chances 4.75 (15/4), per Bet365. A tie 3.60 (13/5) between them may also be on the agenda judging by recent performances, although Sociedad will likely be crowned as the victors mainly due to the fact that they’ll be playing at home.

Deportivo La Coruna vs Granada and Athletic Bilbao vs Malaga

La Coruna have endured a difficult season so far as they are located just outside of the relegation zone. They currently sit in 17th place with an overall of 17 points from 19 games and maintain some pretty dire results at home (3 wins, 2 draws and 5 losses). The only reason why Bet365 has assigned them preferential odds 2.20 (6/5) is because their upcoming opponent Granada is in a worse position than them, sitting in last place.

Liga BBVA Matches of the Week

Granada have only managed to win once while playing on the road as the other matches ended in 3 draws and a staggering 6 losses. Taking their current predicament being in the relegation zone and having bad away results would make a football fan think they would have outsider odds, but instead their chances are not that far off. Granada still retain some chances to win 3.40 (11/5), according to Bet365, while a draw stands at 3.20 (12/5).

Right after the Deportivo and Granada match, Athletic Bilbao will host Malaga in what is looking to an uncertain game. Malaga now holds 7th position and maintain an away record of 4 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses, however Bet365 ranks them as underdogs 3.75 (11/4) against their next opponent Athletic Bilbao, who are sitting all the down in 13th place with only 19 points.

Under Spanish gambling laws, Bet365 has earmarked the hosts to win 2.05 (21/20) mainly because they will be playing on their own ground. Their results at home are not that impressive (3 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses) and they need to improve fast if they are to make a stamp in the league this season.
