According to Croatian gambling law, gambling both on an offline is completely legal. As a result, the nation’s residents feel free to do so, naturally. Some may be surprised to find that there are definitely patterns when it comes to the demographics of gamblers in Croatia.

Poker and all other table games are legal, but can only be played in the states casinos. Basically all forms of gambling in Croatia are overseen by the government organization Hrvatska Lutrija. Poker is a game that is not yet very popular, but definitely on its way there.

As for demographics in gambling groups, men are the strong leader in all forms of gambling. Fortunately, the few women that are involved are not willing to sit back and watch this continue, especially in blossoming sectors like poker.

Online poker in Croatia is where most of the local’s get there start. This was also the case for some of the nation’s seriously savvy poker queens, namely Zeljka Pencinger, Sonja Kovac, and Hana Soljan.

These ladies, one of which is a well known actress in her homeland, have dedicated themselves to starting a poker league just for the ladies. They encourage women to learn more about, and how to play the game.

As a result of their diligence, one of their Pokerica forum members, Andreja Begic-Fazlicl, was recently able to rank 4th in a Full Tilt Poker Double Deuce Tournament and brought home a staggering $11,000.
As internet gambling in Croatia, as well as the game of poker, grow more and more popular, players worldwide can expect to see more of the likes of these ladies and their associates. Girl Power!
