Bad luck trailed the young American poker star, Mark Newhouse for two consecutive years. Fortunately, he managed to keep his ninth place.

Mark Newhouse, who hails from North Carolina, USA, became renowned in the poker world as being the first poker player to make it to the finals 2 years in a row. He placed ninth again as he did the previous year in the highly popular World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event held in full compliance with American gambling laws.

Although Newhouse started out in a cool third place at the final table, he was the first to be eliminated. Despite clever moves, the 29-year-old poker player lost his chips early into the game.

However, being placed twice in the top ten of the annual WSOP main event has its perks. By playing out his aces on stage in a major US poker room, Newhouse became a millionaire within two years.

During the elimination press conference held after he dropped out of the competition, Newhouse stated: “It’s time to get back to reality”.
