The summer transfer window this year has been extremely busy, with lots of big names moving to new clubs. Some of these players have spent several years at their former clubs before choosing to leave them. While younger players joined bigger clubs in order to win titles and become even better players. Most top European clubs have been already involved in these transfers from Real Madrid to Manchester City.

The English and German markets have seen the most movements so far. While one of the richest clubs, Paris Saint-Germain has been relatively quiet so far. Of course, we are only at halftime, with lots of time being left to make other signings. In our summary below we collected the biggest transfers happening so far.

Lewandowski’s Move to Barcelona is One of the Major Football Transfers This Summer

Although it hasn’t been officially announced yet, everyone knows now that Robert Lewandowski joined FC Barcelona on a four-year deal. The Polish striker left Bayern Munich after 8 years, though his exit wasn’t as great as he probably should have deserved. He scored 238 goals in 253 appearances, an amazing number from the two-time winner of the Best FIFA Men’s Player award. Barcelona paid €45 + €5 million for Lewandowski, which is a huge amount considering the club’s financial situation.

The Catalan club also signed Brazilian winger Raphinha from Leeds United. And they got for free Franck Kessie from AC Milan, and Andreas Christensen from Chelsea. Their biggest rival, Real Madrid hasn’t made as many transfers yet. But they made the most expensive signing so far. As the Blancos paid €87.4 million for Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in one of the major footballs transfers this summer. No wonder online sportsbooks in Spain still mention them as the top favorites to win La Liga this season. Though Barcelona follows them closely in the outright odds.

Transfer of Haaland and Other Top Talents

Staying with expensive signings, Manchester City spent €65,5 million to buy Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian striker is one of the best players right now. So, it wasn’t surprising that several clubs were in the race to sign him. Eventually, he chose City, his father’s former team.

Now it’s Guardiola’s task to fit him into the team. The main Premier League rival of the Citizens, Liverpool also signed a talented young striker, 23-year-old Darwin Nunez for €81.9 million. The Uruguayan was the top scorer in the Portuguese league. He scored 26 goals in 28 appearances for Benfica last season. Nunez was signed to replace Sadio Mane who joined Bayern Munich this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain has also chosen to sign a young talent, 22-year-old Vitinha from Porto. The Portuguese midfielder had a great season in the domestic league and also made his senior debut on the national team.

His compatriot, 20-year-old Nuno Mendes also joined the French club from Sporting after already spending the previous season there on a loan. But the biggest news at the club was Kylian Mbappe’s decision to stay, instead of joining Real Madrid. With Mbappe, Neymar, Lionel Messi and the new players PSG seem like a top contender for the Champions League trophy again.

Other Major Transfers in the Premier League

Moving back to England, following the new arrivals, several City players left the club. Including Raheem Sterling who was signed by Chelsea. The English international has been at City since 2015 and had some really great seasons at the club. But last year he wasn’t in his best form and couldn’t keep his place in the starting eleven.

The 27-year-old can prove his skills in London now where major changes are also going on. Kalidou Koulibaly was signed from Napoli, while Romelu Lukaku joined Inter on loan. Brazilian Gabriel Jesus was another player leaving City in order to join Arsenal for €57 million.

The Gunners also bought the Portuguese midfielder, Fabio Vieira along with 19-old Brazilian forward, Marquinhos who joined from Sao Paolo. Tottenham also started to strengthen their squad by the signings of another Brazilian, Richarlison from Everton. Meanwhile Manchester United announced the arrival of Christian Eriksen.

And the departure of several players including the French world champion Paul Pogba. One of the biggest questions at the club is Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, which is still not clear yet.  Online gambling sites in Spain mention Atletico Madrid as one of his possible new destinations along with his return to Real.
