Rational Group’s websites PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker might be joining the New Jersey online gambling scene soon.

The latest rumors circulating in the world of gambling will make American players very happy. Sometime in the near future, gamblers will have two new websites where they can play online poker in the US state of New Jersey, after Canadian company Amaya Gaming agreed to buy Rational Group.

According to recent gambling news, the deal included Rational Group’s two poker sites – Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars – and shortly after the acquisition, Amaya started discussing licensing with state authorities.

Stepping up the game

PokerStars’ return to the market would increase competition between the best online casinos for US players, including 888 Poker. But CEO Brian Mattingley is not worried and said he would welcome his rival into the regulated US market.

“We compete with PokerStars throughout Europe. They are a formidable competitor. But they would make all of us work much harder and it would expand the market. I would much rather have a small slice of a large pie than a big piece of a small pie,” Mattingley told reporters.

“It would be like unleashing an 800-pound gorilla into the market, but having more players on a regulated site would benefit everyone.”
