You might not often place a bet on women’s golf but this weekend is an excellent opportunity to do so with some of the biggest stars of the circuit out in force chasing down their portion of that five million dollar prize purse up for grabs at the 2017 US Women’s Open Golf Championship with a field of 156 players racing over the 72 par, 6,732 yard Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, but just which of these amazing sportswomen should you back at Bet365? We take a look.

  • Trump National Golf Course
  • Bedminster
  • New Jersey
  • 156 players
  • $5 million Purse

President Donald Trump has a love for golf that is well known and this weekend his Trump National Golf Club is hosting the 2017 US Women’s Open Golf Championship, which he’ll like. Partly because it associates his name with the heights of professional sports but mostly because might distract a little in Google Search from his son having committed acts of treason to get him elected in the first place. Although, I admit, you might not want to bet on women’s golf wholly eclipsing the Russia scandal.

Perhaps if US gambling laws weren’t so namby-pamby we could all wager on how soon a member of Trump’s family is jailed. Would it be Jnr for his treason? Ivanka for her crimes against fashion? Or Jarad Kushner for being so bloody stupid as to marry into this criminally narcissistic bunch of lunatics that will almost certainly end their days swinging from a lamp post suspended by piano wire. By comparison a bet on women’s golf at Bet365 is somewhat tame, but at least you know some skill is involved with women’s golf.

Carlota Ciganda – Sei Young Kim – Lydia Ko

Bet On Women’s Golf At Bet365 This Weekend

This is, of course, the third of the five big major championships for the ladies this year and the oldest of the lot giving it an edge of heritage with the 18 termed the “Old Course” which sees a big par five to open proceedings sorting the women from the girls straight away, especially as we’re due to see rain on Friday which will make for heavy rough even if the winds will remain relatively light until Saturday where that clutch of par 3 on course will make a winning bet on women’s golf a tad more tricky.

With not a lot of room for error there could be some dramatic moments in those 10kph gusts and whilst the bookies like Bet365 have already all but made up their minds the only sensible bet on women’s golf you can make this weekend is either on So Yeon Ryu or Amy Yang there’s still a great field of players out there and this tournament has produced the odd surprise over the years hitting US gambling news headlines on those occasions when the less well known or tipped have come through victorious.

Will So Yeon Ryu Or Amy Yang Take The Win?

Women’s Open Odds

  • Carlota Ciganda – 18/1
  • Sei Young Kim – 16/1
  • Lydia Ko – 9/1
  • Amy Yang – 13/2
  • So Yeon Ryu – 11/2

Lydia Ko gets 9/1 to win at Bet365, which is quite tempting, although it’s when you get into the final 4 odds that an each-way wager affords you that things get interesting. Sei Young Kim gets 16/1 to win, but four to one on a top four finish? Very tasty, as is Carlota Ciganda at 18/1 or the plethora of people sat at around 20/1. Of course you could throw caution to the wind and place a bet on women’s golf that involves Alison Walshe winning, but at 2500/1 you’d have to be a family member or something, right?

Amy Yang gets 13/2 and has been playing well of late but favorite right now is So Yeon Ryu at 11/2 on Bet365 which is, if you’re going to bet on women’s golf, the safe place to put your money, however that weather and this course means that predicting what will happen once they tee off is a little like trying to understand why someone would commit treason and then tweet out a confession that they had as if it proved they didn’t, but the tournament will still be a great bet on sports in the US this weekend regardless.
