PokerStars Walks Away From European Poker Awards With Six Awards

PokerStars already won three American Poker Awards, three British Poker Awards, two International Gaming Awards, two Gaming App Awards and two eGR Operator Awards recently.

PokerStars, the world’s most popular online poker site and part of the Amaya Inc. company, saw its faithful poker players and staff reaping rewards at the European Poker Awards, held in Malta recently. The event, approved by Malta gambling laws, followed closely behind the PokerStars EPT Malta Poker Festival.

The sponsored players and staff managed to haul in six awards including Team PokerStars Pros Liv Boeree, George Danzer and Eugene Katchalov. Boeree won the Female Player of the Year award, Katchalov was awarded Ukrainian Player of the Year. Danzer reined in the Poker Ambassador of the Year.

Two PokerStars bloggers pick up media awards


Danzer, from Germany, secured the 2014 WSOP Player of the Year title which only serves to highlight Danzer’s outstanding performance at the game’s top table. Danzer shared his happiness on Malta gambling news by declaring that “It makes me really happy that I won a trophy at the European Poker Awards. Winning the best poker ambassador award shows that people believe I approach the game in the right way and that’s my goal.

PokerStars' EPT 10 Vienna Main Event won the coveted award for Event of the Year which had a buy-in of over $2,000. In addition to those awards Victor Saumont, PokerStars French Blogger scooped up the Best Poker Media Content in recognition of his documentary ‘Nosebleeds’. PokerStars Blog reporter and EPTLive commentator, Marc Convey bagged the Media Person of the Year award.
