Salah Says There Won't be a Battle with Ronaldo in the Champions League Final

Liverpool have joined Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final, but Mohamed Salah assures fans that the most important game of the season won’t be focused around him and Cristiano Ronaldo, according to online sportsbook news.

Teamwork is the key to success

Salah has been a revelation since joining Liverpool last summer from AS Roma – the side that he helped knock out in the semi-finals of the Champions League. He has been instrumental both in scoring loads of goals and also providing essential passes around the final third on the pitch.

Having played in 49 games overall for the Reds this season, the Egyptian international has found the back of the net a staggering 43 times across all competition – 31 of which came in the Premier League. No one expected this easy of a transition in his first campaign, but then again he has prior experience in English football with Chelsea, despite it being for a short period.

Despite his great individual performances, Salah has said Liverpool’s success in the Champions League is down to teamwork instead of solely due to his contributions.

“It is not going to be a final between Mohamed Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo,” said the 25-year-old forward. “I am playing for a great club and we have great players, so qualifying to the final came with great teamwork. I cannot do it alone – it is collective work. When we score a goal it’s because we are all doing good, when we conceded it means we all need to work harder.”

Bet on Champions League final

Salah has already scored 43 goals this season (source:

As a comparison to Salah’s goalscoring haul this season, Ronaldo himself has 42 goals in 41 appearances this campaign, so you might want to consider placing a bet on who of the two forwards will score more goals in the end with online sportsbooks in Egypt.

The Portuguese star has found the back of the net 15 times in 12 Champions League games, while the “Egyptian king” has scored four less in 11 outings. But Ronaldo has a distinguished track record when it comes to the elite European competition, having scored a mind-boggling 105 goals in 100 appearances since 2002.

Real Madrid – a side that has won the last two editions of Europe’s biggest football tournament – are favourites to defend the title against Liverpool, which would see them clinch three straight Champions League triumphs – a feat not accomplished since Bayern Munich’s great side in the 1970s (1974, 1975 and 1976).

Bet365 Sportsbook if giving Los Blancos odds of 2.20 (6/5), while Liverpool are viewed as underdogs 3.00 (2/1) for the final. A draw between the two sides is 3.60 (13/5) – an event that’s also possible for first 90 minutes that’s considered for this bet. But we’re pretty sure that Jurgen Klopp’s men will be able to overcome the 12-time champions, especially when you look at their performances this season. You can basically feel it in the air that Liverpool will win the Champions League final in Kiev.
