Swedish online gambling giant Betsson to sponsor English Premier League football club Arsenal

Betsson, a renowned gambling group that’s well-established under Swedish gambling laws, took a step closer to entering the British gaming market. The gaming operator struck a deal with the renowned football club Arsenal to sponsor the team for three years.

Arsenal is one of the most recognized football brands, with fans following the team from around the world. The club dates back to 1886 and has 13 League titles and 10 FA Cup titles under its belt. Currently, Gunners are the 3rd richest football club in the world with estimated worth of $1.2 billion.

The sponsorship deal will allow Betsson Business Solutions, the B2B division of the group, to become Arsenal’s official betting partner. Betsson will become one of the first online sportsbooks in Sweden to place its advertising and betting services at British customers’ disposal. The gambling giant introduced a special online brand, GunnersGaming, which premiered during the Arsenal – Liverpool match on August 20th.

The Managing Director of Betsson Business Solutions, David Bjork told Sweden gambling news: “Betsson chose Arsenal Football Club not only because it is a huge international club with a very large fan base, but also because its tradition of innovation matches perfectly with the GunnersGaming by Betsson concept. Arsenal is one of the greatest football teams in the world and we’re looking forward to enjoying a long and successful partnership together.”

Vinai Venkatesham, the head of global partnerships for Arsenal, commented that Arsenal is excited to be welcome Betsson on board as an Official Partner of the Club and that it would be “an experienced and trusted brand who will be delivering this innovative new venture.”

Betsson joins the likes of Carlsberg, Nike, Citroen and Thomas Cook by sponsoring Arsenal Football Club.
