Intralot and Camelot are listed mong the companies interested in being providers of lotto and internet gaming services in Georgia.

The Government in Georgia announced that they are looking for a company to run the national lottery for a period of 10 years as well as to organize other online gambling activities in the country. As gambling news report some of the companies that apply for the license include include UK National Lottery operator Camelot, Intralot, Australian group Tatts, SciGames and new comers in the sector such as Playtech and NeoPollard.

Since the license includes providing both types of lottery services (across retailers and online) as well as the introduction of new online gaming products on the Georgian market, it is not determined whether there can be one ideal candidate that can meet the expectation of the Government. However before the license is given to any provider a considerable concern for the government in Tbilisi is also the dealing with the black gambling market which has flourished in the past few years.

Increased development of the Georgian online gambling market

A special challenge for all the bidders will be to find a strategy for providing proper service for the growing interest for online gambling by the Georgians. In this country of 4,5 million people the online gambling market is characterized with a fast development especially when mobile gambling is concerned. Some of the bidders have more some less experience in providing mobile gambling services.

However, the resume of the company will not be the only determinant factor. The money that they will plan to invest in the country will also count. As online gambling sites in EU claim the basic amount of money that they should deposit as a guarantee is USD 5 million. The closing date for the application process is 12 of December.
