The best 32 players from the European Tour Order of Merit will meet in Dortmund this week and compete for the European Championship title. And of course, the £120,000 prize money. Including the world-ranking leader Peter Wright. The top seed of this tournament, Luke Humphries, and the defending champion, Rob Cross. Along with the three-time world champion, Michael van Gerwen who has already won this event four times so far. Making him the most successful player in the tournament’s history. Tied with the former legend, Phil Taylor who also got four wins. The championship starts this Thursday with the first round where the top seed will play against the last seed, the second with the 31st player, etc.

Van Gerwen Leads the 2022 PDC European Championship Odds

Probably most darts fans are used to seeing these odds, where one of the top three players, van Gerwen, Price, or Wright is leading. Well, this time online sportsbooks in Germany favor MVG to win the event. They offer the smallest odds, 6.00 for his fifth European Championship title. Van Gerwen is in great form; he won the World Grand Prix at the beginning of the month which was his third major win this season. Plus, he also got three wins in the European Tour and one victory in the PDC world series. The Dutch champion is the second seed in this tournament now. He will start against Chris Dobey on Friday.  The world-ranking leader Peter Wright and the world No2 Gerwyn Price are mentioned next in the 2022 PDC European Championship odds. Wright hasn’t got as many wins as van Gerwen, his only victory came from Germany though. After he won the 2022 German Darts Open in September. Snakebite also got to the final in two more European Tour events and reached the semi-final in the World Grand Prix. He won this tournament once before, in 2020. But he was knocked out in the first round last season. Price will aim for his first European Championship title this year. The Iceman won the World Series of Darts Finals last month and finished as a runner-up in the World Matchplay. He also got one win on the European Tour and in the World Series. And the odds of 8.00 to win here now.

Other Favorites include Smith, Clayton, and Humphries

Michael Smith had a fantastic start to the season after reaching his first PDC World Championship final. Even though he lost there eventually against Peter Wright. He also finished as a runner-up in the UK Open, but the world No4 hasn’t been in top form recently. Bully Boy got one win on the European Tour and will start this event as the eighth seed. His odds to win his first major PDC tournament are 12.00. The same odds are offered for the victory of Jonny Clayton. Even though he could only win one event, the New South Wales Darts Masters this season. But the Ferret has also reached the final in the World Cup of Darts. And appeared in three more major semi-finals.  Online gambling sites in Germany mention next the top seed of the tournament, Luke Humphries. The world No9 has been brilliant on the European Tour this season after winning four different events. He hasn’t got any major PDC win yet, but he might get it now in this tournament. His odds to do so are 13.00. The defending champion, Rob Cross hasn’t got any wins on this tour, but he reached the final in three events. His first match will be a tough one though against the 2018 tournament winner James Wade. Cross is still favored to win the match and has an odds of 21.00 to defend his title. We can find the same odds next to Damon Heta. The Australian player won his first European Tour title 10 days ago and will surely arrive in a positive mood.
