Looking forward to football season starting? So are we! Make sure you keep a sharp eye on these five rookie NFL players in the coming weeks.

Myles Jack: Jacksonville Jaguars

20 year old Myles Jack was the 36th overall pick at the 2016 NFL draft, but many experts see him as a future star. Jack attended UCLA and played as both a linebacker and running back, scoring the most tackles as a freshman since Kenny Easley in 1977. He was later called the Pac-10 Conference Defensive and Offensive Freshman Player of the Year.

In 2015, Jack tore his meniscus during practice. He opted to sit out the rest of the year in order to focus on rehabilitation for the 2016 NFL Draft. That decision paid off, and he was eventually picked up by Jacksonville. The linebacker’s talent is undeniable, and if his college career was any indication, he will have a bright career with the NFL. Jacksonville is listed as +300 underdogs to take first in the AFC South Division, according to GTbets

Karl Joseph: Oakland Raiders

The raiders are constantly looking for new talent to help them improve their NFL record, and they may have found it with Karl Joseph. The Floridian played for West Virginia from 2012 to 2015 before suffering a devastating knee injury that forced him to sit out for most of his senior year.

Joseph rehabbed his knee and was chosen as a first round draft by the Raiders. This came as no surprise, as he was leading the nation in interceptions before his injury. The Raiders are in desperate need of some new blood, and Karl Joseph could be just what the team needs to find the success they had in the 70’s and 80’s. Who knows, they could even move to Las Vegas in the near future. The Raiders are currently listed as +275 underdogs to win the AFC West Division.

Josh Doctson: Washington Redskins

Josh Doctson opened a lot of eyes during his time with Texas Christian from 2013 to 2015. As a sophomore, he had 36 receptions for 440 yards, and four touchdowns. His success carried on into his junior year, where he made US gambling news by setting a school record with 65 receptions for 1,018 yards and 11 touchdowns. He followed that up by scoring 14 touchdowns as a senior.

Doctson was chosen in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. His ability to beat defensive backs for passes makes him an exciting young prospect, and one of the rookie NFL players that people have been clamoring about. GTbets lists the Redskins odds at +300 to win the NFC East Division.

DeForest Buckner: San Francisco 49ers

It’s hard to argue against DeForest Buckner being one of the rookie NFL players’ best athletes. He played for the University of Oregon as a Defensive End and quickly established himself as one of the team’s most valuable assets by scoring 29 tackles and 1 sack. Buckner continued to find success throughout his college career, ending his senior year with 83 tackles and 10 sacks.

DeForest Buckner was the 14th overall draft pick, and is seen by many as a key addition to the 49ers roster for 2016. He can play multiple positions and has tremendous pass rushing skills. San Francisco is one of the biggest underdogs in the NFL to win their division, coming in at +3000. Buckner is looking to change those odds.

Laquon Treadwell: Minnesota Vikings

Boston-born Laquon Treadwell is without a doubt one of the top rookie NFL players to watch during the 2016 season. He had an outstanding career at Ole Miss before dropping his last year of school to join the NFL Draft. That decision paid off after he was chosen 23rd overall by the Minnesota Vikings.

Treadwell combines elite athleticism with amazing fundamentals during games. Many are predicting that the wide receiver makes a big impact offensively for the Vikings, who in the past have used a tight end as their number two receiving option. Minnesota’s odds to win the NFC North Division stand at +185.
