The 2022 World Athletics Championships will be the 18th edition of the event. But it is the first competition to be held in the US. Hayward Field in Oregon will host the best track and field athletes in the world between the 15th and 24th of July. Following the cancellation of the originally scheduled last year’s event. Athletes will compete in 49 different events without their Russian and Belarussian rivals who have been banned from the competition. The US has been the most successful nation so far with a stunning 170 gold medal. And they are likely to add a few more this year as well. But we can also find athletes from other nations like Jamaica, Kenya, Norway, or Italy with a huge chance of winning. Let’s see who they are.

Women Olympic Champions in Top Athletes at the 2022 World Athletics Championships

The next Olympic Games are only two years away, so this year’s World Athletics Championships can be a key step in the preparation. We can see several current Olympic champions in the field who will try to defend their title in Paris. One of them is Elaine Thompson-Herah, the four-time Olympic champion. The Jamaican sprinter doubled her gold medals in Tokyo after winning the 100m and 200m again. And she is the top favorite of online sportsbooks in Jamaica in Eugene as well. Ahead of her compatriots, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OW8rIKP05HU Another multi-time Olympic champion is Kenyan runner Faith Kipyegon who managed to defend her title in 1500m last year. The Olympic champion of the 110m hurdles, Jasmine-Camacho Quinn is favored to win the gold again ahead of US favorite Kendra Harrison. While Venezuelan triple jumper Yulimar Rojas can continue her winning streak with another gold in Oregon. Of course, we can also find US champions in the top athletes at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.  Like Sydney McLaughlin who won the 400m hurdles gold in Tokyo, and broke the world record this summer in this track. Her biggest rival can be another American, Dalilah Muhammad who is the 2016 Olympic champion. One of the youngest stars of the US team is Athing Mu, the winner of the 800m in Tokyo. While a real legend, Allyson Felix can also add more medals to her impressive collection as a member of the 4x400m relay.

Top Male Athletes to Look Out For

We have several great champions in the men’s field too. One of the most popular athletes is Armand Duplantis who is still only 22 years old, but he is already an Olympic, a World Indoor and a European champion. The Swedish pole vaulter finished second in the previous world championships three years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mCcex6pwMo Now Mondo is the top favorite for the gold ahead of American Christopher Nielsen. Norway is hoping for more great results from its top athletes. The 1500m Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen who can even win the gold in 5000m. And the gold medalist in Tokyo in 400m hurdles, Karsten Warholm who can win his third world championship title in a row.  Probably one of the most awaited events is the 100m final where we might see another fantastic run from the Olympic champion, Italian Marcell Jacobs. As a promising sign he also won the 60m in this year’s world indoor championship. But online gambling sites in Jamaica favor the Olympic silver medalist, Fred Kerley for the win. After the American sprinter ran a new personal best and world lead of 9.76 in the national championship. In the 110m hurdles, local fans can also hope for an American winner. Thanks to Grant Holloway who is the defending world champion. And the silver medalist from the Tokyo Olympics where he was beaten by Jamaican Hansle Parchment. Now his compatriot, Devon Allen can be his main rival who finished fourth in Tokyo according to the predictions.
