  • Sen. Harris checks almost all the boxes for Biden
  • Sen. Klobuchar has strong Midwestern roots
  • Stacy Abrams is very talented but lacks experience
The 2020 Democratic Vice Presidential candidate odds are one of the biggest issues discussed in US politics these days. What we know so far is that the VP pick will be a woman. However, the list of names is extensive. We narrowed it down to four top contenders. Here they are. Joe Biden became the 2020 de-facto Democratic presidential nominee after Bernie Sanders dropped out in mid of April. Biden has a good chance to become the future president, but he is for sure not the future of the Democratic Party. He will be 78 years old in November. He is a white and moderate man in a party with a majority of women, roughly 40 percent non-white, and increasingly liberal. Besides, his ideas are not that revolutionary for the young Democrats. That is why the Democratic Vice Presidential candidate odds are so important. Biden previously promised in a March debate with Sanders that he will select a woman as his running mate. To narrow things down the age, color and experience seem to be crucial criteria and being able to bridge Sanders’ progressive movement. Online sportsbooks in the United States have their long list of candidates, but four contenders have been seriously discussed recently. They are senators Warren, Harris, and Klobuchar, as well as the widely popular Stacy Abrams.

Sen. Warren popular but not on the same page with Biden

Senator Elizabeth Warren is among the favorites at the Democratic Vice Presidential candidate odds. She values 5.5, as per the 22BET Sportsbook. It is likely because of her name recognition built on her high profile in the senate and from her 2020 presidential bid. Besides, she is a beloved figure among liberals. Not to mention that Warren said it straightforward to MSNBC that she would accept a VP offer from Biden.

However, there are a few problematic things to be kept in mind. First, Sen. Warren is 70 years old, which means she is not exactly of a different generation. Second, she has been supportive of government-run medicare for all for most of her presidential bid, which is quite the opposite of Biden’s promised policy.  Thus, Biden will probably think twice whether he and Warren will be comfortable together governing.

Sen. Harris might be too ambitious for Biden

Senator Kamala Harris checks almost all the boxes for Biden. She is younger two full decades than Biden at the age of 55. But, she is old enough to serve as the attorney general of California. Harris has very strong political skills, creating memorable moments during the 2020 Democratic presidential debates. Besides, she is coming from a deep-blue state. That means Democrats would not have to worry about holding onto her vacated Senate seat if she becomes vice president. What is more, Sen. Harris is African American and Asian American woman, which means she can bring demographic balance to Biden.

All her advantages put her at the forefront with 2.75 odds at 22BET Sportsbook. However, there are few things to be kept in mind. It is unclear how the Biden-Harris team will come along. Besides, if Biden is looking for a loyal sidekick, Sen. Harris will not fit well, as she might use the VP to set her up for future presidency.

Sen. Klobuchar has strong Midwestern roots

Senator Amy Klobuchar from Minnesota will certainly get along with Biden if he picks her. She is a midwesterner and centrist. That will likely help Biden to attract the attention of white moderate midwesterners who left the Democratic party to vote for Trump. Yet, despite her 4.5 odds to become the VP candidate, she will do little to help Biden reach out to the Democratic progressive movement.

Stacy Abrams is very talented but lacks experience

The 47-year-old with huge name recognition has been a longtime admirer of Biden. Recently, she has publicly expressed her interest to become the VP pick. At she said she will be honored to serve as Biden’s 2020 running mate. Abrams is very talented and has a bright future. Back in 2018, she made history by becoming the first African American woman to come close to be elected as governor of Georgia. Since then, she became in the spotlight nationally, especially with her several huge non-profit initiatives in the country. Yet, according to online sportsbooks in the United States, her only problem is the lack of experience. Despite that, her odds stand at 9.
