The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) will start a new tournament that will be called the Unibet Champions League.

The Unibet Champions League will feature the eight best players from the PDC world ranking. The inaugural tournament will be held at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales, from September 24 to 25. The eight competitors will be divided into two groups to play round-robin tournaments with the top two of each group qualifying to the semi-finals.

This Unibet Champions League would be a highly interesting tournament for anyone who bet on sports in the UK. And the deal is huge for the operator and it didn’t come as a surprise. Unibet recently has entered the world of darts by sponsorship deals with the European Championship and Masters. Unibet will also be the title sponsor of the inaugural World Grand Prix that will be held in October.

The Unibet Champions League will be a unique tournament

Barry Hearn, the Chairman of PDC commented the news about the Unibet Champions League in UK gambling news, saying, “This unique tournament will be another great showcase for the ever-growing Unibet brand, and we look forward to working with them for this eagerly-awaited championship, which will receive huge national and international exposure through the BBC.”

Chris Watson, Unibet UK marketing manager also reflected to the BBC’s coverage of the Unibet Champions League. He said, “The Unibet Champions League is going to be a real showpiece event this year for the PDC, and the extensive BBC coverage will allow Unibet to reach a large audience of passionate sports fans with our brand.”
