In part 1 of our article on which European country has the best MMA fighters, we’ll examine the UK, and discuss some of this nation’s top fighter’s odds in upcoming fights.
The MMA scene in Europe is one stronger now than ever before. The UK in particular has one of the most passionate MMA fan bases in the world, and some of the best fighters in the UFC hail from this nation.
Let’s take a look at two fighters from the UK scheduled to compete in the coming months. Both of these fighters are competing in the main event of their respective cards.
Darren Till: Fights October 21
Liverpool native Darren Till burst onto the UFC scene back in May of 2015 and has since gone 3-0-1 in the promotion. He’s taking on his toughest test to date later this month against Donald Cerrone in the main event of a card in Gdansk, Poland.
Till is a major reason why the UK comes to mind when asking which European country has the best MMA fighters. He’s very young at just 24 years of age and would immediately catapult into the top 10 at welterweight with a win here. Nearly all online sportsbooks in the UK list him as a major underdog though, including NetBet Sportsbook, which lists his odds to win at 2.20.
Michael Bisping: Fights November 4
There’s no doubt that Micheal Bisping is the face of UK MMA. The veteran made UK gambling news
back in June of 2016 by winning the middleweight championship and is now taking the biggest fight of his career against George St. Pierre early next month.
If you’re wondering which European country has the best MMA fighters, it’s Bisping that carries the torch for the UK. He will likely go down as a hall of famer when he retires, and will have had one of the greatest careers of all time if he manages to beat GSP next month. He’s an underdog to so with current odds of 2.05 to get the victory.
