South Sudan is one of the poorest countries in the world, and was engaged in a brutal civil war from December 2013 to August 2015. There is almost no information on gambling laws in South Sudan. The country gained its independence just five years ago, making it likely that they have not established their own set of laws regarding gambling.
Sudan does operate a national lottery, called the National Lottery of South Sudan, which offers a range of lotto games including a weekly draw and scratch cards.
There does not appear to be any casinos inside South Sudan, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
The legality to bet on sports in South Sudan is unclear, although there does not appear to be any land-based sportsbooks operating in the country.
Online Gambling in South Sudan
Like land-based gambling, there does not appear to be any laws in South Sudan related to online gambling. Internet usage is relatively low here at 15.9%, and as of September 2016, there are no internet gambling sites operating from within the country.
It is unclear whether the government allows South Sudan citizens from accessing foreign gambling sites, but it seems likely that they do, as they have neither the time or resources to prosecuting online gambling.
