Many pundits and fans stated that there is a crisis at Bayern after a tough defeat at Porto last week, but Guardiola’s team had other thoughts.

As Bayern started to put the ball into Fabiano’s net regularly in the first half in the second leg of the Champions League semifinal on Tuesday night, it almost felt like this is not the Allianz Arena anymore. The teams were seemed to be back in Belo Horizonte where Germany humiliated Brazil at the world cup like no team did before and Joachim Low’s team made that easily.

Pep Guardiola’s Bayern produced a similar performance to that against a Porto side that looked razor sharp, dangerous and ruthless in the first leg, that ended in a 3-1 victory for the Dragons. But this time Bayern put a pressure on Julen Lopetegui’s team that was hardly similar to anything they experienced before, and though they did not give up the second half completely, they were in a hopeless situation at half time with odds blown away that online sportsbooks in the EU offered before the game.

There is no crisis

Even though Guardiola ripped his trousers open in rage so much that anyone could see his underpants, his team gave the best performance in a while with a perfect first half against Porto. Bayern squezed the visitors into their box, Porto defended their goal with ten outfield players, but this wasn’t enough to prevent the home team’s players to nod the balls coming in from the wings into the net.

Thiago Alcantara, Jerome Boateng and Robert Lewandowski all scored with a header during a thirteen minutes long period and Bayern turned the contest around before the 30th minute of the game arrived. Thomas Müller, whose super intelligent trademark movements earned him a man of the match performance, gambling news reports, added one more with a luckily deflected shot. Lewandowski scored his second goal before the break, so Bayern was three ahead on aggregate.

Porto came out with a fighting spirit in the second half and they managed to keep the ball for long periods of time, particularly as compared to the first period when they hardly touched the ball. When Jackson Martinez found the back of Manuel Neuer’s net in the 73th minute, Porto’s online betting odds slightly dropped but Bayern never let the game out of their hands.

Xabi Alonso’s beautiful free kick goal wrapped up the game with only two minutes to go, so after last week’s slip in Portugal and splitting with the teams medical team, Bayern were able to come back the strongest possible way. This display, that was performed without Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry, who are still injured, could alert the other teams in contention that Guardiola’s team major goal is still the capture of the Champions League trophy.

Barca still on fire

Dani Alves made Neymar big, in more sense than one
Barcelona made his way to the semis too, and they were able to complete this feature seventh times in the last eight seasons. This will be their eleventh apperance in the semifianals in total since the Champions League era started in 1992, which is a record, according to mobile betting news. They accomplished that with a comfortable win over Paris Saint-Germain, after Luis Enrique’s team won the first leg in France.

Instead of Luis Suárez, who served a double-nutmeg menu for David Luiz in Parc des Princes last Wednesday, this time Neymar was who helped his team with a couple of nice goals. The Brazilian scored them both in the first half, which left PSG without real chances for advance at half time. Even with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the starting line-up, who returned from suspension after was being sent off against Chelsea in the quarterfinals, the French side looked absolutely inferior.

So Barcelona reached the last four easily but things are going to become more serious now with possible opponents Bayern, either of the Madrid teams and Juventus or AS Monaco who easily dispatched Arsenal at the Emirates in the previous round. Still, according to internet betting in the EU, Barcelona are favourites to win the competition this term, and with the red and hot attacking trio of Neymar, Suárez and Lionel Messi, they are truly able to accomplish that.
