• Fourth elimination in a row for the Spaniard
• Brown to play against Troicki in the third round

For Nadal this is the fourth unsuccessful Wimbledon tournament in a row. Last year was his best placement on the tournament when he reached the fourth round but was eliminated by the Australian teenager Nick Kyrgios, ranked on the 138 place on the ATP list. Yesterday’s defeat was also fourth in a row on Wimbledon from players ranked below the top 100 on the ATP ranking. For Nadal now there is only the Grand Slam tournament in North America left to save what is left from this season.

The elimination of Nadal is not shocking for his fans

Rafael Nadal disappointed
Nadal hasn’t been his old self for years

Rafael Nadal stated, in an interview after the match, his dissatisfaction with his performance. He was not very precise with the drop shots and did not do much effort from the line where he also didn’t show much superiority against the opponent. However, the performance of Nadal on Wimbledon was not a surprise for the many tennis fans nor for the online sportsbooks in the EU. It would have been a shock a few years ago for sure, but the considerable decline in his game that we can witness this whole season prepared many of his supporters for the worst: an early elimination on Wimbledon.

On the other side Nadal lost a match against Brown previously in Halle this year. The 30-year-old German tennis player, ranked 102nd on the ATP ranking list did not have any significant success on the Grand Slams being eliminated on the last five played in the first round. He has a specific style of playing, on moments very chaotic, but the his exhibition he performed yesterday showed what he can do when things get a little bit more arranged. Brown succeeded to slam 58 winners in a match which was his carrier record so far.

His didn’t hide his satisfaction for his performance and stated after the match that he was happy only with the opportunity to play against Nadal on the Center Court, reports gambling news. The win against the Spaniard, who is considered by many to be the best tennis player in history, is something extra. He also expressed an opinion concerning his play I told the journalist that a crucial aspect for the win was that he managed to put together his performance and maintain it on a very high level throughout the whole match.

Short retrospective of the match

Jamaican-German Brown defeated Nadal for the second time

Much of the match passed in an intense struggle in which Nadal unsuccessfully tried to impose his play from the line. His tired and disappointed face expressions were the completely opposite of what we saw on the other side. The spectators had the impression that Brown was playing far more easily than Nadal, easily hitting drop shots and slicing forehands whenever he wished. The Spanish player also had chances. He made a break early in the first set for a lead 2-1 but lost it due to the mistakes in serving and let Brown equal on 3-3. On 5-6, after a bad movement by Nadal, Brown made a fabulous backhand that decided the set.

After the first set many thought that the level of play that was presented was too hard to be maintained by Brown. This was especially the general impression that fans had after Nadal won the second set 6-3. However Brown didn’t give up. He punished all of Nadal’s mistakes and unused chances and with wonderful drop volleys managed to win the third set. Brown’s game was till this moment amazing. The only hope of Nadal was that the German would become to nervous to finish the performance on this level.

However this wasn’t the case. He continued to remain calm, serving brilliantly got the victory with a remarkable ace. Whether he is able to show another performance of this kind on on Wimbledon is something we should soon see. In the next round he plays with Viktor Troicki who defeated Nedovyesov also in four sets. After the win against Nadal some Gibraltar betting companies have already given him big chances for a win against the Serbian and passing to another round
